Matthew Jukes - "...spectacular Reserve Cabernet.  This is a mighty wine with structure, intent and pomp and it took only a moment for me to recognise the impressive nature of this hero and give it a VVIP pass into the inner sanctum of this year's 100 Best. This is a big fellow, using a large whack of oak as well as employing the dastardly duo Petit Vedot and Malbec to increase the muscle and menace.  I urge you to exercise restraint with this stately wine because there is a lot of grip which needs to ameliorate but I am delighted to find a wine of this calibre from an estate which I have circled around for a few years but have never quite felt the need to pounce on. Three cheers for Amelia"

Ray Jordan ~ "A smooth and stylish cabernet with a distinctive cool mint influence on the nose working with deep dark black fruits. The palate is so seamless and velvety smooth with a perfect unison of fine tannins and fine grained oak. It is largely cabernet sauvignon but smaller additions of malbec and petit verdot have played a part in completing a most impressive wine. Clearly sourced from a first-class vineyard."

James Lawther MW ~ "Amelia Park...a name that is on the rise"

"Produced from the best parcels of cabernet, plus small amounts of petit verdot and malbec. A classic medium-bodied cabernet, tightly structured and not the least flamboyant; blackcurrant, redcurrant, black olive and earth join with cedary oak on the long palate. The tannins are evident only 2 months after bottling; thoroughbreds like this need patience." James Halliday, 25 Jul 2014

Winemaker Jeremy Gordon has received many awards, including the The Jimmy Watson Memorial Trophy - the most prestigious and sought after wine award in Australia.

A single vineyard in the Wilyabrup sub-region of Margaret River is sourced for this wine. This vineyard consistently produces perfectly balanced parcels of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Petit Verdot. The site is completely dry grown on gravel loam soils and the quality of the site is reflected in its ability to grow healthy well balanced canopies and ultimately grapes.

The 2012 Vintage will go down as one of the best vintages in Margaret River. Favourable spring conditions and good rainfall ensured healthy vine and canopy development. Little rainfall was recorded between the beginning of January through to the end of March and temperatures where moderate to hot during this period, resulting in ideal ripening conditions. Adding to these favourable conditions was the lack of bird and disease pressure in the vineyard.
