The Wine Cellar Insider - "Floral notes bring a lot to the cherry and kirsch on the front end. Lush, sweet, fresh and loaded with juicy, vibrant, red fruits. The finish has sticking power. The inclusion of white wine grape varieties add aromatic complexities and more roundness to the finish."
The Winemaker - "Strong ruby red hue with a powerful and extremely complex nose of fine spices, fruit, black olives and garrigue srubland. Concentrated on the palate, with nice polished tannins and exceptional length packed with spice and black fruit."
Grenache (50%) Syrah (15%) Mourvèdre (12%), Cinsault (8%) Clairette and Bourboulenc (5%)
Originally from Bordeaux, the Lavau family has been involved with winemaking for generations, and have had vineyards ranging from Bordeaux to Tunisia. In 1964 they were seduced by the richness and quality of the Provencal soil, and settled down to make wine in the Rhone Valley.
