Clonakilla Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 2016 ~ Canberra, Australia
James Halliday ~ "The indefatigable [wine-maker] Tim Kirk, with an inexhaustible thirst for knowledge, is the winemaker and manager of this family winery founded by his father, scientist Dr John Kirk. It is not at all surprising that the quality of the wines is exceptional... Demand for the wines outstrips supply...".
Tim Kirk (winemaker) ~ "The 2016 vintage was bountiful and beautiful. 90mm of rain in the last week of January was a blessing, and right on time. Then a long stretch of warm, dry weather delivered great ripening conditions. This Sauvignon Blanc Semillon blend shows vibrant, fresh fruit characters and a zesty, crisp palate. Ready to drink right now."
No critic reviews for this new 2016 vintage as yet, the previous 2015 scored very highly.
Campbell Mattinson, 94/100 (2015 vintage)
