David Prestipino ~ "A playful yet serious blend of tempranillo, cabernet and grenache with wonderful balance and structure. The nose is complex, with each variety on show, while the palate is all poise, with inviting flavours of red berries, herbs, vanilla and spice."
The Winemaker ~ "Lipsmacking, more-ish and delicious, this is an uncommon blend that makes surprising sense. This aromatic wine bristles with plums and blackberries and opens up to reveal aromas of dry herbs and cured meat on a smoking grill. A core of plump, chewy fruit is kept fresh with a lively line of acidity and finishing with a beautifully integrated weave of fine, tight tannin."
The Swinneys are a pair of brother-and-sister winemakers who recently had two of their wines invited onto the wine lists at The Ivy and Savoy Grill (Gordon Ramsay) restaurants in London. The latter is located inside The Savoy Hotel, perhaps the most famous hotel in the world. Swinney Vineyards made its debut in Halliday’s Australian Wine Companion 2015 with a five-star rating and were ranked in the top ten of best new wineries.
This wine is one of those invited onto the wine list at the Savoy Grill in London (a Gordon Ramsay restaurant) where it sells for £55 a bottle (approximately $110).
