Swinney "Ingénue" Riesling 2014 ~ Frankland River, Western Australia
David Prestipino 94/100
James Halliday ~ "This is Franklin River Riesling at its best, imperious in its diamond-cut flavours, crushed lime leaf on the way through the bouquet and palate; unsweetened lime and lemon flavours are enhanced by glittering acidity.”
David Prestipino ~ "Superb example of how good riesling can be in the Frankland River. The fruit is impeccable, with gorgeous and precise lemon and lime flavours that marry perfectly with the sublime acidity on the finish."
The just released 2014 is one of the finest examples of Frankland River Riesling on the market and follows closely in the footsteps of the Halliday 95 point-rated 2013 vintage.
This outstanding Great Southern Riesling is the centrepiece of the Swinney’s focused range of wines, described by wine critic Nick Ryan as “an impressive suite of wines that provide compelling evidence of real understanding of site and dedication to capturing what makes it special.”
The Swinneys are a pair of brother-and-sister winemakers who recently had two of their wines invited onto the wine lists at The Ivy and Savoy Grill (Gordon Ramsay) restaurants in London. The latter is located inside The Savoy Hotel, perhaps the most famous hotel in the world. Swinney Vineyards made its debut in Halliday’s Australian Wine Companion 2015 with a five-star rating and were ranked in the top ten of best new wineries.
