"Angus The Bull" Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 ~ Victoria, Australia
James Halliday, 2015 Edition, 93 Points ~ As ever, the wine is competently made, competitively priced, and in this wonderful vintage rises well above its station in life."
Wine Box ~ It’s a premium wine, but priced to be affordable. It also tastes as good as it looks. Drink it if you can get your hands on a bottle.
Campbell Mattinson, The WineFront ~ 90 Points "Angus The Bull Cabernet Sauvignon has been more or less the same price for its entire 10-year history. This 2012 release is a watermark release in that it’s the first to be made solely from Central Victorian grapes; it’s usually made from grapes grown in a wide variety of south-eastern Australian regions. The Bull has come home."
Neal McLennan, ~ "WHEN WINE SNOBS GET IT WRONG! - A wine I gave little attention to — until I put a blindfold on. .....It is a rich wine and it does have a very fruit forward profile but there’s also a nice tannic backbone that keeps the wine from being too flabby or sloppy. It’s tasty and will always be a lesson to me to taste with my mouth not my eyes." The philosophy behind the multi-award winning Angus The Bull is to create a unique and innovative wine that provides the ideal accompaniment to prime beef. Each year the most promising parcels are hand selected from premium Cabernet Sauvignon grapes sourced from outstanding sites across Central Victoria and blended to create the signature Angus The Bull style.
International Wine Challenge - Commended
Winemakers tasting notes ~ "Intense colour with bright purple hues. Ripe black fruits with rich dark chocolate and vanillin smoky oak aromas. Medium to full bodied palate weight, characterised by firm tannins and a savoury masculine finish. An ideal accompaniment to red meat and premium cuts of prime beef. Will continue to improve over the next 4-6 years"
