ANZA Wine Club ~ Old World Wines ~ Wed 9 October 2019
Explore ‘New World’ wines from countries which are relatively new to wine-growing such as the US, Australia, South Africa and Argentina.
This month, we ask all Club Members to bring along a bottle of a New World wine. This is your chance to mingle with your fellow club members and have an open discussion about what you love most about New World wines.
New World wine regions are often warmer, which tends to result in riper, more alcoholic, full-bodied and fruit-centered wines. These days, the terms "Old World" and "New World" can spark debates among wine lovers, usually about tradition vs. modernization. "Old World" implies tradition and history while the term "New World" invokes technology, science, corporations and marketing. What’s your thoughts about which region makes the best wine?
