Tyson Stelzer “A refined and pretty sauvignon with lemon blossom and guava aromas and a palate of tangy passionfruit, lime zest and subtle green pea notes. It finishes long, clean and zesty, with a vibrant acid line. A value offering in the vast Marlborough sauvignon category”
The Winemaker “Aromatic pink grapefruit and jasmine pop out of the glass, followed by varietal tropical fruit and zest. The palate has interest and complexity from extended time on lees balanced by fresh minerality and great length. A small portion of this wine was fermented in oak barrells giving it a savoury touch”
The name Catalina Sounds evolved from the majestic Catalina flying boats that played a vital role across the South pacific during and after World War II. Catalina Sounds wines harness the purity and vibrancy of Marlborough’s climate and landscape.
Marlborough is by far New Zealand's most important wine region. Situated at the north-eastern tip of the South Island, this dry, sunny region produces around three-quarters of all New Zealand wine. It is particularly famous for its pungent, zesty Sauvignon Blanc - widely considered by critics to be the best Sauvignon currently produced anywhere on the planet. Commercial scale viticulture began in Marlborough the 1970s – it conquered the world within 25 years!
Sauvignon Blanc is currently the bestselling white wine in Singapore. It pairs well with white meats including Chicken, Pork and Turkey. It also complements Fish.
