Henri Abele Brut Champagne NV ~ Champagne, France
This famous champagne from Henri Abelé, France's third oldest champagne house, is a true, highly-spirited champagne, made from a selection of the best crus classes. The assemblage achieves harmony with Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, a proportion which is subject to slight variations as dictated by the conditions and qualities of the vintage. Over that time, it refines and comes into its own to bring out the best in the fine fruit. Lovely greenish golden colour, with floral aromas and pleasing crispness, characteristics which make it particularly appropriate as an aperitif with hors d’oeuvres, though connoisseurs are quite insistent about finding many other occasions during the day.
International Wine Challenge ~ "Creamy ripe peach & toasty richness. Taste nicely evolved, yeasty, biscuity flavours, good ripeness and length."
Roger Voss ~ WineEnthusiast ~ "This small, discrete Champagne house, owned by Freixenet of Cava fame, makes an equally understated nonvintage Brut. Ripe and finely balanced, it brings apple and pear flavors along with a touch of minerality and crisp acidity at the end".
