James Halliday "Black cherry, spice and licorice are underwritten by the freshness given by modest alcohol. Delivers the goods."
Darren Davis "Loads of mid-palate fruit weight, this wine shows great length and complexity with firm yet velvety tannins completing the structure."
The Winemaker - "Deep intense red colour with a pretty perfumed nose of black fruit, hints of forest floor and spicy oak influence. Loads of mid-palate fruit weight, this wine shows great length and complexity with firm yet velvety tannins completing the structure."
The winemaker "2014 Vintage gave us a very wet winter but an almost perfect vintage. The dense blossom canopy provided a distraction for the birds and the consistent warm dry days enabled us to manage fruit quality and ripening."
James Halliday "A very successful venture under the control of CEO Ron Fraser. The wines come from the estate vineyards planted to chardonnay, semillon, sauvignon blanc, shiraz, cabernet sauvignon and merlot. The wines have three price levels: at the bottom end, the standard Chapman Grove range; then the Reserve Range; and, at the top, ultra-premium wines under the Atticus label."

Margaret River is a highly respected wine region in the southwestern corner of Western Australia. Famous for having a more "European" wine style than its counterparts across the country, Margaret River has made its name through its unusually refined Cabernet Sauvignon (often blended with Merlot), gamey Shiraz, intensely citrusy Chardonnay, and refreshingly grassy "SSB'" blends of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon. Margaret River's winemakers are particularly proud of it's temperate, coastal location – which is very similar to that of Bordeaux.
Syrah is a dark-skinned red wine grape. Its origins have been popularly debated, but its modern viticultural home is unquestionably the northern Rhône Valley of eastern France. In Australia, Syrah is the flagship variety and has developed such a distinct personality that it is essentially regarded as a distinct variety, is overwhelmingly (but not exclusively) known as Shiraz.
