This is great……and here’s why!

Miguel Chan ~ "elegant and full-bodied ... seduces with fruity aromas and spices in perfect harmony. This Cabernet Sauvignon is produced by Fantinel wine, which in just three generations has become a benchmark in the production of quality wines in the Friuli region of northeastern Italy. This bold wine acquires great elegance thanks to the ageing in oak barrels."

Fantinel are a decades old Italian producer based in the mountains north of Lake Garda, Italy. Formed by Mario Paron in the 1960s they now manage 300 hectares of vines spread over three DOC zones: Friuli Grave, Prosecco and Collio.

Friuli Grave (or Grave del Friuli) is a DOC covering a large area of land in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, between the Alps and the Adriatic sea. The region's combination of soil, climate and situation make for excellent wines, and viticulture here dates back to Roman times.   Friuli Grave – like its namesake Graves in Bordeaux – takes its name from the gravelly, alluvial soil that characterizes the zone.

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world.
