This is great……and here’s why!

Huon Hooke 93/100

James Halliday "5 star" winery

Huon Hooke therealreview.com “This well-priced young chardonnay has a light hue and restrained straw-hay aromas over lemon and grapefruit nuances, which also fill the palate. The finish is clean, crisp and refreshing. It has early-picked vitality, purity of fruit and sensitively handled oak.”

Peter Forrestal "Fraser Gallop Estate has made a bigger impact on the Margaret River wine scene than any other winery established since the region's early days."

Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front “The back label notes that ‘the fruit profile is slender, refined and understated – citrus in character – with a sense of elegance.’ Which seems to me to be a pretty good description of the style, and of what the wine has to offer, and of what people can expect. The wine lives up to it’s billing. It’s fresh and zippy with sweet lime, passionfruit and lemongrass characters tending ever-so-slightly into both pear and grapefruit. It’s refreshing and lengthy; it’s not too slender but it’s certainly not big or bold. Softness to the texture doesn’t hurt matters either.”

The Winemaker "On the palate it's elegant.... flavoured with grapefruit and pear characters, leading to a crisp finish....Aromas of grapefruit, lime with honey, almond and oatmeal notes from the influence of understated oak. "

Margaret River is a highly respected wine region in the south-western corner of Western Australia. Famous for having a more 'European' wine style than its counterparts across the country, Margaret River has made its name through its unusually refined Cabernet Sauvignon (often blended with Merlot), intensely citrusy Chardonnay, and refreshingly grassy 'SSB' blends of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon.

Margaret River's temperate, coastal location which is very similar to that of Bordeaux.
