Decanter World Wine Awards International Trophy for Best Bordeaux blend

Nine gold medals for their Cabernet Sauvignon

Peter Forrestal ~ "Fraser Gallop Estate has made a bigger impact on the Margaret River wine scene than any other winery established since the region's early days."

The Wine Front, Campbell Mattinson “A textural wine. It cruised through the mouth but then bites with flavour to close. Grapefruit, nettles and citrus. No real sign of oak flavour but for mouthfeel, yes, it adds some velvet to the feel. Another very good release under this label."

Ray Jordan, West Australian Wine Guide 2017 “As racey as an Olympic 100m final. Crisp fresh tropical fruit and a decent splash of citrus tang. The palate is lively, as you would expect, with a precise and very long palate sustained with nice acid. Clean zippy finish in the mouth.”

The Winemaker ~ "A blend of both Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc is both racy and opulent. Semillon provides focus and restraint, while Sauvignon Blanc adds fragrance and substance. Pungent passionfruit, honeydew melon and lemon grass, create a vibrant and lifted perfume. A crisp and refreshing palate of grapefruit, lemon rind with hints of passionfruit in the background. This wine has the hallmarks of flavour, length, elegance and texture with a sizzling citrus finish."

Previous vintages have also scored well:

James Halliday, 95/100 (2014 Vintage)

The Wine Front, 94/100 (2014 Vintage)

Huan Hooke, 90/100 (2013 Vintage)

The next time you find yourself in Margaret River, their hauntingly beautiful vineyard – and cellar door – is well worth a visit. Margaret River is a highly respected wine region in the south-western corner of Western Australia. Famous for having a more 'European' wine style than its counterparts across the country, Margaret River has made its name through its unusually refined Cabernet Sauvignon (often blended with Merlot), intensely citrusy Chardonnay, and refreshingly grassy 'SSB' blends of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon.

Margaret River's temperate, coastal location which is very similar to that of Bordeaux.
