Qantas Wines " There is a cool climate feel with this classic Margaret River blend - it is sophisticated, with judicious oak management and refined, pure fruit. There is texture, impressive composure, and pristine expression. A lean wine with plenty of waxy texture on the palate, ultra refreshing acidity to bite. Citrusy and some creme fraiche to soften the edges, and some flint as well."
James Halliday "This 50/50% blend strikes very different notes, tighter in some ways, looser in others. The two components spent 10 months in French oak and stainless steel, the oak obvious. It has more precision, drive, and elegance, with juicy minerality."
Just Wines "This award-winning wine flaunts a pale straw colour with green hues. The bouquet of this elegant white blend is dominant with citrusy aromas from the Semillon, complemented by punchy and zesty aromatics from Sauv Blanc grapes. The palate is refreshing with flavours of lime, guava and passionfruit balanced by crisp acidity. The wine shows elegance, length, and texture, ending in a sizzling citrus finish. Try pairing it with Cheddar or Gruyere cheeses for an enhanced taste."
Crafted from 57% Semillon, 40% Sauvignon Blanc and 3% Chardonnay, this Semillon Sauvignon Blanc exhibits all the hallmark characteristics expected from this blend.
Fraser Gallop is one of Margaret River's premium wine producers. The winery has won many awards, including the prestigious Decanter World Wine Awards International Trophy for Best Bordeaux blend and nine gold medals for their Cabernet Sauvignon since 2007. The next time you find yourself in Margaret River, their hauntingly beautiful vineyard – and cellar door – is well worth a visit. It was recently described by Helen Young in The Australian newspaper as “spectacular in autumn but impressive in any season”. Margaret River is one of the best-known wine regions in Australia, recognized internationally for the quality of its wines and the natural beauty of the region. Although originally renowned for its unusually refined cabernet sauvignon and intensely citrusy chardonnay varieties, the region now produces Semillon sauvignon blanc blends and Shiraz. Located in the south-western corner of Western Australia, it is famous for having a more 'European' wine style than its counterparts across Australia, owing to the regions temperate, coastal location which is very similar to that of Bordeaux.
Ray Jordan "A racy vibrant lighter style of SSB, but still with plenty of intensity through the palate. Crunchy lemon zest and tropical notes with the faintest hint of herbaceousness. Get a little barrel fermentation which adds that subtle textural feel on the mid-palate. Excellent.”
