Organic

Gary Walsh "Lime, pear, some white flowers, ginger, cinnamon, and Parmesan rind, a little struck match. It has crunch and energy, pear skin and apple, a saline edge, fine chalky/dusty texture, cinnamon bark, a slight lemon rind and quinine bitterness, fresh crunch of green pear and grapefruit, and a perky kind of sappy and preserved lemon finish of good length and freshness. For a warm to hot climate wine, it certainly has some mojo, not least an individual personality. Saline and samphire thing happening too. It’s very good."

Mike Bennie, Gourmet Traveller Wine "Corymbia is one of the most exciting wine projects to emerge from Western Australia in a decade. The wines under the Corymbia label have been outstanding."

Erin Larkin “Delicate, as usual, with a flood of green apple, white flowers, Turkish apricots, cheesecloth and beeswax. This has Australian bush, and wide open summer air, and saltbush, too. The phenolics have a bitter little kick in them through the finish ... but that's ok, I was waiting for it. The waxy, lanolin character is exactly en pointe for the variety.” (2021 vintage)

Erin Larkin "...Warm, low yielding and with plenty of structure and power. That shows in the intensity of white summer apricot, green apple skin, lanolin and crushed cashew that spools out over the very long, neat finish. Saline acid laces all of these characters together. Another brilliant release." (2020 vintage)

Nick Stock "Lemon and sliced apple aromas, some gentle pastry and an overall purity and freshness. The fruit has been coaxed into a smoothly fleshy style on the palate with a bright apple, pear and lemon-flavoured finish. The Corymbia Rocket's Vineyard Chenin Blanc 2020 is beautifully balanced." (2020 vintage)

Gary Walsh "Preserved lemon, lemon barley, pear and spice. Tight, juicy, pear skin and lemon peel, bright acidity, powdery with a talc-like perfume, saline and fresh, with a dusty chalky finish of fine length. Hot climate wine, from a hot vintage, laying it on cool. Excellent. So excellent. This is a banger. " (2020 vintage)

Huon Hooke "Light yellow hue, with a smoky sulfide bouquet, the palate lean and restrained, delicate and tense, with a properly dry finish augmented by a slight grip. Lemony flavour and acidity lingers. It would be better with a buttery fish fillet." (2019 vintage)

Ray Jordan "This is bloody marvellous Chenin Blanc. It was made by Rob and Genevieve Mann from fruit grown on Tony Mann’s property. Sure, it was a very good year, but it has been handled deftly to capture all those essential goodies from a variety that sings from the Swan. Controlled tropical fruits, with minerally citrus character and a lively fine acidity, are in perfect balance. Just love the palate." (2018 vintage)

Campbell Mattinson "Soft acidity, fluid flavour, a semblance of texture and lovely length. ...There’s a lilt to this wine, a carry. Watercress, pears and apples. It has enough to satisfy but it’s elegance personified." (2018 vintage)

Huon Hooke "Very light yellow colour. Vaguely scented aroma of fresh flowers and nettles, the palate light and straightforward, wispy and clean, simple and fairly short. A decent quaffing dry white. " (2018 vintage)

Nick Stock "Here’s a delicious Chenin blanc that shows dried apple rind, cooked pears, fresh herbs and freshly squeezed nectarines. Medium body, bright and fine acidity and a medium finish." (2018 vintage)

Campbell Mattinson "You'd call it slight and insubstantial but you'd also call it stylish. It's a paradox. Spiced apple flavours are the order of the day but the real charm springs from soft acidity." (2018 vintage)

Mike Bennie (The Wine Front) "Precise and racy style, kept in check with limey acidity and chalky phenolic grip. Actually, so much grip, rivulets of talc-and-salt-like pucker and chew. Serious structure and finesse in tow. Lime, tonic water, mixed minerals. Whoosh. Belter of a wine."

Gourmet Traveller Wine "Multiple releases of Corymbia Chenin blanc have impressed.....The wines under the Corymbia label have been outstanding."

Gourmet Traveller Wine "Corymbia is one of the most exciting wine projects to emerge from Western Australia in a decade. The combination of a distinguished winemaking family, the reinvention of a much-maligned wine region, the unlocking of the potential of a mature vineyard and a general sense of creativity, have all contributed to a strong currency.

Organic wines are made from grapes grown without pesticides, following strict organic standards. Organic wines are produced in vineyards that do not use synthetic chemicals.Certified organic wines have been certified by Australian Certified Organic Standard (ACOS).

Corymbia is the newish project of Rob and Genevieve Mann. The Mann family, of course, are generational wine producers in WA, with a history of iconic wines and vineyards. Rob, formerly working with Hardys, Cape Mentelle and Newton Vineyard in Napa Valley, has returned home and made a mark.

The family vineyard in Swan Valley is dry grown and organically farmed. While winemaking draws on the Manns’ suite of expertise and diversity of influences, it has been pared back for Corymbia, letting the fruit and character of the wines take the spotlight.

That Swan Valley has been put on a pedestal is wonderful, and a celebration of older vineyards, unique soil profile and a general sense of generational endeavour is exciting for the region. There’s an undercurrent of winemakers amplifying the region’s potential, but arguably Corymbia is the current totem."

Huon Hooke "The Mann family are winemaking royalty in Western Australia."

Corymbia is a new winery launched by one of the founding families of Western Australian wine. The Manns have grown grapes and made wine in the Swan Valley, Western Australia's oldest wine-growing region for over a century. Corymbia wines are critically acclaimed, organically-farmed, single-vineyard wines. Founder, Rob Mann is considered one of Australia's best contemporary winemakers. He was the senior winemaker at Hardy’s Tintara, and Cape Mentelle, where during his ten-year tenure the winery was twice awarded 'Australia's Producer of the Year' and Rob 'Australian Winemaker of the Year'. Prior to founding Corymbia he was Senior Winemaker at LVMH’s Newton Vineyard in the Napa Valley.

Swan Valley is a sub-region of the Swan District wine region just north of Perth, in Western Australia. The Swan District is Western Australia’s oldest wine region, having been planted by English settlers soon after their arrival in 1829. For almost 150 years it was the only significant wine-producing region in Western Australia and today it's also home to the state's largest winery. Some of Western Australia's finest wines are produced in the Swan Valley.

It is an actively multicultural area, with the descendants of early Yugoslav, Italian and English migrants continuing the region's winemaking traditions. Pioneers in the development of table wines include the legendary Jack Mann at Houghton in the 1930s and 1940s.

Chenin Blanc is a versatile white-wine grape variety that has been cultivated in France for nearly 1300 years. It is most commonly associated with France's Loire Valley, and its high acidity levels mean it can be vinified in a number of different styles: as lusciously sweet, botrytis-affected dessert wines, light, honeyed sparkling wines and as full-bodied, still white wines.

This acclaimed vineyard has won many awards for this wine.

Matt Ward "With lifted floral notes of elderflower, pear, cinnamon and custard. The palate is generous, where ripe fruit and texture
create richness, yet balance with very fine minerality and a touch of residual sugar to bring the wine to a memorable finish."

Bob Campbell "Attractive pinot gris that's been made with a light touch with poached pear, apple, ginger and nutty yeast lees characters. A dry wine with appealing purity and an ethereal texture" (2021 vintage)

Sam Kim "Elegant and delightfully inviting, the bouquet shows white flesh peach, Nashi pear, floral and lemon peel aromas. The palate displays excellent fruit purity and focus, combined with refined texture and bright acidity, finishing long and delicate. At its best: now to 2025."

Bob Campbell "Dry, fruity pinot gris with ripe pear, stewed apple, ginger and star anise flavours. An initial suggestion of sweetness is quickly balanced by fruity acidity giving a dry finish and adding a little tension to the wine" (2020 vintage)

Bob Campbell "Off-dry pinot gris with green pear, apple and fresh baked bread yeasty characters. Crisp and slightly hard acidity balance subtle sweetness and leave a drying finish." (2019 vintage)

Huon Hooke "The colour is very light, bright yellow and the aroma is fresh and clean, tasting quite sweet and fresh, grapy and stone-fruity, with a nectarine-like flavour that is very appealing. An easy drinking and charming gris." (2017 vintage)

Since the release of Catalina Sounds Pinot Gris, the vineyard has been consistently awarded.

The Real Review. Bob Campbell & Huan Hooke "Top 2016 Pinot Gris"

Winestate Magazine 2016 Vintage "Attractively scented, with mouth filling body and strong, ripe peach and pear-like flavours. Fresh and finely textured, with slightly mealy notes."

Malborough based award winning winery, Catalina Sounds is known for wines which harness the purity and vibrancy of Marlborough’s climate and landscape. The name Catalina Sounds evolved from the majestic Catalina flying boats that played a vital role across the South pacific during and after World War II.

Marlborough is by far New Zealand's most important wine region. Situated at the north-eastern tip of the South Island, this dry, sunny region produces around three-quarters of all New Zealand wine. It is particularly famous for its pungent, zesty Sauvignon Blanc - widely considered by critics to be the best Sauvignon currently produced anywhere on the planet. Commercial scale viticulture began in Marlborough the 1970s – it conquered the world within 25 years!

Pinot Grigio is more than just the Italian name for Pinot Gris. Although the two names refer to a single grape variety, the wine styles they represent are clearly distinct from one another.

The more refreshing Pinot Grigio style has enjoyed great success in various countries, most recently the United States, (where it is fondly nicknamed ""Greej"") and Australia. The most common descriptors of the style are ""light"", ""crisp"" and ""dry"". These characteristics are complemented by aroma notes citing lemon, green apple and blossoms.

The Grigio style is achieved by harvesting the grapes relatively early, in an attempt to retain as much fresh acidity as possible; the variety is naturally quite low in acidity. To retain freshness and ""zing"", fermentation and storage typically take place in stainless-steel tanks.

1 x Tar & Roses Lewis Riesling 2022 - Central Victoria, Australia

96/100 Jeni Port, Halliday Wine Companion
95/100 Jeni Port, Halliday Wine Companion (2021 vintage)
Bronze - Aaron Brasher, The Real Review (2021 vintage)

5 Star - James Halliday

Jeni Port, Halliday Wine Companion "The late Don Lewis was a star riesling winemaker. This wine named in his honour lives up to the Lewis style in both fruit concentration and class and is a fine follow-up to the excellent 2021 vintage. At once delicate and floral but with a solid core of pure, intense lime and citrus. A pitch-perfect riesling embracing a touch of savoury lemongrass, a pinch of spice and a brisk sherbety tingle set to some racy acidity."

Jeni Port, Halliday Wine Companion "Named after a very fine man and award-winning winemaker, Don Lewis, this wine honours the former Mitchelton and Tar & Roses winemaker who loved the riesling grape. So much budding complexity waiting to break through, with lifted floral aromatics, lemon, lime, citrus peel and a touch of exotic lemongrass. Concentrated on the palate, saturated in citrus intensity and length with a ribbon of apply spice with bright acidity that keeps on going. Wow!" (2021 vintage)

Aaron Brasher, The Real Review "Pale straw and really bright and vibrant in the glass. Lifted aromas of lemon pith, bath salts, jasmine, lychee and wet stone. Quite rich, soft and full flavoured, mandarin, tangelo, in the riper citrus spectrum, apple and pear in there as well. Round, full flavoured and easy drinking..." (2021 vintage)

Winemaker "Pale straw. The wine has attractive white blossom and orange skin characters on the nose. The palate flows well with generous fruit sweetness, citrus pith flavours combined with gentle acid complexity, textural phenolics with a clean finish."

The original Tar & Roses team of famed Don Lewis and Narelle King began their winemaking journey in Priorat, Spain, immersing themselves within the classic Mediterranean wine regions and varietals. This sparked an interest in how these varietals could be grown and made back home in their native regions of Central Victoria, Australia. Don, now passed was one of Australia's legendary winemakers earning the highest honour of winemaking in Australia, the prestigious Jimmy Watson award.

James Halliday "Tar & Roses produces wines inspired by the classic Mediterranean varietals and was named after the signature characteristics of Nebbiolo. The name also ties back to the winemaking team behind the venture, the legendary Don Lewis and his winemaking partner Narelle King. Narelle is carrying on the Tar & Roses tradition after Don's passing in 2017"

100% Riesling
Alcohol: 12.5%

Tar & Roses style of wines reflects the multi-region of Spain, Italy and Australia, as well as traditional winemaking alongside the new. All Tar & Roses wines are made using fruit grown in Heathcote, Strathbogie Ranges, Alpine Valley, King Valley and Priorat, Spain.

Central Victoria, Australia, is a region that's gained recognition for its flourishing wine industry. It's known for producing high-quality wines, particularly Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon, but also Chardonnay, Viognier, and other varietals. The area's diverse microclimates, varying soil types, and elevation contribute to the production of distinctive wines.

Riesling is a light-skinned, aromatic grape of German origin which is – if the majority of top wine critics are to be believed – the world's finest white wine grape variety. The Riesling vine holds a very different place in the wine world to such great grapes as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot or Chardonnay. While these immensely popular varieties have conquered every corner of the winegrowing world, Riesling is conspicuously absent from the core wine regions of France, Spain and Italy. Riesling's home is the regions that trace the middle Rhine and the lower Mosel, two of Europe's great wine rivers.

James Halliday 5 Star Winery

Australian Gourmet Traveller Wine Magazine “Elegant and beautifully balanced.....Opens with spicy cracked black pepper and bright notes of freshly picked blackberries. Plush and open with lovely freshness and vibrancy offering attractive fruit purity and peppery complexity....combines black cherry aromas with oak spices and a subtle touch of whole-bunch fragrance. There’s supple flesh on the palate with plenty of balanced tannin.”

The Winemaker "A perfumed and spicy Syrah, medium-bodied in style. The palate is concentrated and silky, with finely structured tannins, bright fruit characters, wonderful elegance and depth. Aged for 11 months in French oak. Stored carefully, this wine will age gracefully for ten years. "

Australian Wine Companion "This is another fantastic release under this label. Garden herbs, nuts, twigs and spice notes blend seamlessly with red and black cherries, licorice and wood smoke. Flamboyance is its middle name, but it has the discipline to make the most of it." (2017 vintage)

Yabby Lake Vineyard was established by the Kirby family in 1998 and over the past decade, Yabby Lake has built a reputation for single-vineyard Mornington Peninsula Chardonnay and Pinot Noir of great purity and character.

James Halliday "This high-profile wine business was established by Robert and Mem Kirby (of Village Roadshow), who had been landowners in the Mornington Peninsula for decades. In 1998 they established Yabby Lake Vineyard, under the direction of vineyard manager Keith Harris; the vineyard is on a north-facing slope, capturing maximum sunshine while also receiving sea breezes. The main focus is the 25ha of pinot noir, 14ha of chardonnay and 8ha of pinot gris; 3h of shiraz, merlot and sauvignon blanc take a back seat. The arrival of the hugely talented Tom Carson as Group Winemaker has added lustre to the winery and its wines, making the first Jimmy Watson Trophy-winning Pinot Noir in 2014, and continuing to blitz the Australian wine show circuit with Single Block Pinots."

Led by Tom Carson "one of Australia's most lauded winemakers" so cites Huon Hooke of the Real Review. Under Carson's direction, Yabby Lake's philosophy is to craft wines representative of their site and their season in which they were grown. Yabby Lake believe it’s this attention and care in the vineyard that is most critical to allowing this expression.

Huon Hooke "One of Carson’s biggest moments was winning the Jimmy Watson Trophy [Australia's most prestigious winemaker accolade] with his 2012 Block 1 Pinot Noir – the first pinot ever to win this coveted award."

Mornington Peninsula is one of Victoria's most important Australian wine regions, located an hour's drive south of Melbourne on the southern coast of Australia. It is one of Australia's coolest winegrowing regions and produces elegant Chardonnay and internationally award-winning Pinot Noir wines, and gaining a reputation for its quality medium-bodied, peppery shiraz.

Syrah is a dark-skinned red wine grape. Its origins have been popularly debated, but its modern viticultural home is unquestionably the northern Rhône Valley of eastern France. In Australia, Syrah is the flagship variety and has developed such a distinct personality that it is essentially regarded as a distinct variety, is commonly known as Shiraz.

Organic

Cameron Douglas MS, The Shout "A precise, fresh and enticing bouquet with aromas of fresh red berries and cherry flesh, a fine savoury layer with a whisper of dried herb and thyme then layers of barrel spices. Complex and youthful. On the palate vibrant and youthful with a velvet textured mouthfeel, fine through moderate tannins and medium+ acid line. The core fruit flavours, nut and dried herb qualities are consistent and persistent. Overall, a delicious wine with best drinking from early 2023 through 2029."

Mike Bennie, The Wine Front "Alan Peters-Oswald is a delightful fella and astute winemaker doing good things to elevate the Nanny Goat wines. Here’s a new release. Slight label tweaks too. Supple, succulent, very bright and fresh feeling. Leads with tart cherry fruit characters, a good deal of crunchy, drying cranberry tang and pucker, some dried herbs, a light dusting of pepper. Refreshing feel to taste, vivacious, lively and rips along with sinewy tannin and heaps of tangy acidity. Strap in! Good with a light chill, better in a few years when things settle down. "

Michele's Notes "Deep colour. Alluring perfume of rich dark cherry fruit, plum and brioche. There’s chocolate and slate too. Smooth in the mouth with a lovely flow across the palate. The balance between fruit, oak, tannin and acid is excellent. Very tasty indeed. "

Winemaker "Immediately appealing on the nose with lifted wild berry and floral aromatics, gradually fading to reveal a complex array of ripe cherry & plum fruits, sweet spices, cola, garrigue, and fennel. Sweet red, black and blue berry fruits abound on the palate, with fleeting nuances of red currant, cola, cinnamon, thyme, crushed coriander seed and star anise adding layers of intrigue. Seamlessly integrated oak and powder fine tannins combine with a fine bead of acidity to give a fresh, pleasingly
long finish.

Steve Leszczysnki, Q Wine Reviews "This is such an approachable and ever-reliable Pinot Noir. A gravelly profile shines through. Dark plums, blackcurrants and dark cherries are flanked by dried herbs, cloves and shavings of dark chocolate. Like a Number 8 in rugby, this has the punch to do some heavy lifting but is nimble enough to show soft hands and quick feet like the backs. Tense tannins seize up on close before a long, fine spice finish. Delightful. Drink for five years+." (2020 Vintage)

New Zealand Wine Rater "An intense, perfumed, and floral bouquet in a lifte d, primary New World fruit style with bursts of berry conserve, bramble, a herbal lift, star anise, seaweed notes and fennel. A vibrant, juicy, red fruit core runs the length of the supple, charming palate with chalky tannins. Youthful and will benefit from a year in the bottle but very commercially appealing."

Michael Cooper "Already very approachable, the 2020 vintage (4.5*) was grown at six sites around the region, with almost two-thirds of the grapes coming from Pisa/Lowburn, in the Cromwell Basin. Matured in French oak barriques, it is bright ruby, mouthfilling and vibrantly fruity, with generous, ripe cherry, plum and spice flavours, ,showing good complexity, fresh acidity and finely balanced tannins. Best drinking 2023+." (2020 vintage)

QWine "This is such an approachable and ever-reliable Pinot Noir. Readily available too, making this a go-to is not a silly idea - particularly when it is often priced around the $30 mark. Delightful." (2020 vintage)

James Suckling "Aromas of strawberry, pomegranate and sappy, herbal accents. This has an elegant and soft red-cherry and plum-flavored palate that delivers in tangy, juicy style. Drink now. Screw cap." (2020 vintage)

Bob Campbell "Moderately intense, vibrant pinot noir with cherry, berry, fresh herb and spicy oak flavours. A distinctive wine that seems to express a strong sense of place. Nice purity and a backbone of peppery tannins that helps to promote a crisp, dry finish." (2020 vintage)

Bob Campbell, The Real Review " Appealing silken-textured pinot noir with dark cherry, violet, fresh herbs and spicy flavours. A supple, sinewy, fine-boned wine with high energy. Accessible now, thanks to a core of fruit sweetness, but has the potential to develop well with bottle age." (2019 vintage)

Gary Walsh, The Wine Front - "Juicy cherry, jumps out of the glass, rose petal, some spice. Cherry, fresh, acidity a bit nippy and lemony, but the core of fruit is good. Light tannin plays on the finish. Attractive. Quite stylish.” (2017 vintage)

Decanter "There are just 900 bottles and you should get yourself a bottle or six if you can, as this is sex in a bottle - it's gorgeously textured, silken, and ethereal. There's a transparency to the fruit, showing cardamom, ginger, and cranberry flavours. It makes you swoon! Drinking Window 2019 - 2030" (2017 vintage)

Organic wines are made from grapes grown without pesticides, following strict organic standards. Organic wines are produced in vineyards that do not use synthetic chemicals. Certified organic wines have been certified by Biogro Organic certification in New Zealand.

Highly awarded and acclaimed, wine-maker Alan Peters-Oswald is a specialist premium pinot noir maker. The Central Otago wine region is the world's southern-most commercial wine-growing region, and famous for its Pinot Noir. It differs from all other New Zealand wine areas in that it is inland, in the foothills of the Southern Alps. The level of sunlight is very high, something that accounts for the high levels of alcohol that are often found in Central Otago wines.

Nestled within a timeless and sensual landscape, Nanny Goat Estate Vineyard sits between 270m and 290m above sea level spread across two ancient, North East facing terraces. This is a region of climatic extremes with typically very hot summers, short autumns and bitterly cold winter days. Challenging conditions for producing world-class cool climate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

Successive periods of glaciation and recession, followed by erosion by Mata Au / Clutha River have shaped the Nanny Goat Estate landscape by creating distinct terraces of alluvial soils that are pastiche of loess, gravel, schist and mineral quartz. Generations of farming and the associated cultivation of lucerne and other feed crops have added organic matter to the wind blowen loessial topsoil providing us with a nice balance between vine vigor and free draining attributes.

The essence of Pinot Noir wine is its aroma of strawberry and cherry (fresh red cherries in lighter wines and stewed black cherries in weightier examples), underpinned in the most complex examples by hints of forest floor. Well-built Pinot Noirs, particularly from warmer harvests, also exhibit notes of leather and violets, sometimes approaching the flavor spectrum of Syrah.

This collection brings the best of both worlds to your glass, offering a delightful assortment of premium wines from Australia and New Zealand. Experience the diverse tastes and exceptional quality in this convenient 6-pack, perfect for exploring the unique character of each bottle. Elevate your wine moments with this value-packed ensemble, celebrating the richness and diversity of Aussie and Kiwi wines. Cheers to a taste adventure that combines quality and convenience!
