Campbell Mattinson ~ "Pulses through the finish...... Can't ask for much more....O'Leary Walker is a key name of Australian riesling, in my books. Pretty much as good as anyone....Absolute purity and precision. Lime juice, lime rind and bath salts. Hits the mark up-front and surges straight on with it. If I was looking to drink a young riesling and I saw this, I wouldn't hesitate. "

James Halliday ~ "Light straw-green; all the cliches: classic, pure, etc, can be legitimately used for this beautifully balanced mouthful of lime, lemon and citrus zest, underwritten by minerally acidity on its lingering finish - and its long future."

Established by winemaker-mates, David O'Leary and Nick Walker who earned their reputations making premium wine with large producers. O'Leary Walker Wines crafts small batches of wine, using handpicked fruit, from some of the best vineyards in South Australia.

Grapes are sourced from a vineyward owned by Neil and Heather Grace that has classic Watervale soils, red loam over limestone, with a westerly aspect. Grace's "dry-Grown" vineyard is hand-pruned and hand-picked and relies only on the natural rainfall. The limestone is able to retain moisture and assist the vine throughout periods of warm weather, almost drought-proofing in the summer months. Viticultural practices include vertical shoot positioning which not only encourages even ripening but also provides important shade to prevent the negative impact of sun-burn on the resultant wine.
