It’s impressive, a similar price to Whispering Angel but with more going on and real depth of flavour: tart strawberry and raspberry, with floral notes of peonies, some firm peach and apricot fruit, and a mineral streak. Serious rosé but so delicious. "

This wine is produced by Debussy which has several estates in the Rhone Valley, Provence and other Mediterranean regions. Debussy estates produce wines that express the characters and typicity of each of the French terroir that the vineyards are located, creating wines reflective of the regions and their popular wine styles. The name Rameau d'Or means 'Golden Bough' and is based on a fantastical tale of enchantments, transformations and love. A magical golden bough from an enchanted garden was given to a prince, by an eagle, to awaken a sleeping princess. A bough is so powerful that a single leaf from it would make one rich, young and beautiful. Unfortunately, this prince was not the most handsome man in his kingdom. Choosing a full led soul over outer beauty, he and his newly awoken princess set about to transform the lives of those around them.

Rosé derives its name from the French word for pink. In Spain it is rosado and in Italy rosato. Rosé’s flavours and styles are as varied as the food it matches. Rosé predates white and red wine with ancient rosé-style wines dating back 8,000 years. The colour of a rosé can vary dramatically. A deep fuchsia pink rosé may be bone-dry, though it’s likely to be full flavoured given balance by a gentle squeeze of tannin. Tannin primarily comes from the skin of a grape – as does colour. It’s tannin that sets rosé apart from white and red wine. Almost all wine grapes have clear juice; it’s the skins that give the colour. Grenache is the most popular grape used in rosé, with its lifted confectionary aromas, juicy red fruit flavours and mild-mannered tannins creating the textbook triumvirate for rosé. The temperate Provence region of France is home to some of the world’s most accliamed rosé, perhaps naturally, given it’s widely planted with grenache and its Rhône varietals; mourvèdre, cinsault and syrah.

VertdeVin "The wine is limpid and shiny. On the slightly pronounced pink gold with melon reflections. The first nose is expressed by fruits: a little quince, a little apple, but also stone fruits such as peaches. With aeration, it is a little more floral. The whole remains fresh with a hint of bitter almond. The attack is fresh, frank and aromatic on small acidulated red fruits such as redcurrant and wild strawberry. We find a touch of astringency in the middle of the mouth which continues on a rounder finish on the meringue. There are some fruits: white peach, candy strawberry and orange blossom. There is a good length."

Jean Luc Zuger is the owner of a famuos Chateau in the Bordeaux appellation of Margaux. Ferderic Salin is the owner of a generations-old négociant firm in Bordeaux that has excelled in representing and brokering the best and most famous wines since the end of the eighteenth century.

Both men share a passion for wine and rosé from Provence! This wine pays respect to the steep slopes in Provence on which the Cinsault grapes are grown. These slopes, or "terrassess", provide vital exposure to the sunshine, protection from the strong mistral winds and resistance to disease that are key components to retaining the freshness and crisp balance in this wine.

The Guide Hachette des Vins - the bible of the French wine industry - gave Zuger’s 2007 Bordeaux its highest three-star rating, a score reserved for exceptional wines that are a perfect example of their appellation.

Cotes de Provence is the largest appellation of the famous wine region of Provence. It covers roughly 50,000 acres (20,250ha) of vineyards, which produce the vast majority of Provence's Rosé wine.

Although it also covers red and white wine, about 85% of Cotes de Provence's wine is Rosé, made predominantly from Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre, Cinsaut and the quintessentially Provencal grape Tibouren.

This popular soft and elegant rosé is made from a blend of Cinsault, Grenache and Carignan. A salmon-hued wine, it is lightly aromatic with notes of honeysuckle and candied fruit. Fresh and dry on the palate, with rich notes of white plums, tangerines, apricots and a hint of grapefruit.

Château Sainte Béatrice is owned by renowned Provence winemaker, Valerie Rousselle who owns the largest winery in the Lourdes region of Provence. The type of winemaking adopted at Château Ste Béatrice is said to be "à la Gironde". This very slow process requires great attention and constant monitoring but allows their wine to reach the fullness of its taste and bouquet. Château Sainte Béatrice has some vines which are 60 years old; the average is 30. Located on hillsides in the Argens River, favoured by a southern exposure, these vineyards are able to take full advantage of the Provencal sun and good irrigation to produce fresh and aromatic Rosés that speak to the wineries motto of “quality and tradition".

Rare Rose Blend is used to identify rosé wines made from unusual or rarely seen combinations of grape varieties. There is great variation within the world of rosé, from the fresh, strawberry-tinged wines of Provence to the much-maligned category of White Zinfandel. The grape varieties used are most commonly red, and the pale color is achieved by limiting the contact the grape has with its skins.
