The late Rolf Binder was a multi award-winning winemaker who arrived in Australia from Austria, establishing the winery in 1955. Now run by his children, Rolf Binder and Christa Deans, who have both clearly inherited Rolf Snr's wine making talent, winning the prestigious 'Winemakers of the Year' award in 2005.  Christa produces the white wines, and Rolf the red.

Eden Valley is a wine region within the Barossa zone of South Australia. The region derives its name from the small town of Eden Valley – known as the Garden of Grapes and Gums.  Eden Valley competes with Clare Valley in producing premium Riesling-based wines which thrive in its cool climate.
