Winestate Magazine "A pretty classic - still very young and needing more time to really shine. Some lovely purple fruit characters with minty nuances. "A real bargain!" Excellent value"

Erin Larkin "Fermentation in a combination of stainless steel and oak, matured for a further 6 months with minimal oak contact. Juicy, spicy and fine, this isn't the bombastic and rotund performance that I recall from years gone by – the choice of fermentation vessels surely setting its expression in stone. On the floral, shaley, bouncy side of the street. Brilliant value for money"

Aaron Brasher "Aromas of cedar, eucalyptus, blackberry and spice. Bright and lively on the palate, there's a core of brambly dark fruits working nicely with firm, grippy tannins and punchy acidity. Plenty of palate weight and fleshiness here."

Ralph Kyte-Powell "A crowd-pleasing cabernet-shiraz blend at a very good price. Appearance is medium depth ruby red, and the aromas of raspberry, blackcurrant, herbs and eucalyptus are fresh and appetising. It's a medium weight mouthful, nicely built, with good depth, and excellent balance of quenching acidity and drying tannins."

Jane Faulkner "This ticks all the vibrant and fresh boxes and the drink-now one. Bright juicy blue fruits, lots of spearmint and tomato leaf with a palate full of energy and tangy acidity leading, rather than tannins." (2019 vintage)

Huon Hooke "Bold pepperminty aroma, fresh and bright, the palate lean and sinewy, with a slight dip in the middle and a tense, tight finish. It needs food, as it’s a bit firm and taut for a drink-now red at the present moment. But it is good value. " (2019 vintage)

Campbell Mattinson " Good colour, fragrance, texture and drinkability; the flavours flow evenly and well. Minted blackcurrant is the essential flavour profile, redcurrant and dust as sidelines. For everyday drinking it will take some beating." (2018 vintage)

Aaron Brasher "Jubey, dark pastille aromatics with a whiff of leafiness and tobacco. The flavours are juicy and dark, there's plenty of plummy and mulberry fruits teamed with grippy tannin, a little leafiness and crunchy acidity. A generously-flavoured, enjoyable wine and excellent value " (2018 vintage)

James Halliday "...Its duty is to be fresh, fruit-driven and medium-bodied, the tannins incidental. And so it is." (2017 vintage)

Huok Hooke "Deep, bright, youthful purple colour, with a lovely fresh, bright, alluring mulberry, cassis and raspberry fragrance. The wine is fresh and young but also soft and very approachable, with fine, soft tannins. It's medium-bodied at most, and utterly delicious. Good now and for quite a few years hence." (2017 vintage)

James Halliday "...It is a joyous wine, revelling in its blend of blackcurrant, blackberry and plum fruit. Made with minimal oak contact, retaining maximum fruit freshness." (2016 vintage)

Huon Hooke "Deep red colour with a good tint of purple. The bouquet is berry-like and pepperminty, with overtones of linament and tomato bush. The wine is medium to full-bodied and has appropriate tannins, which finish with some firmness. A wine of good intensity that would repay cellaring. " (2016 vintage)

Ned Goodwin MW "....Vibrant, with the real flow from beginning to graceful end, this elegant wine is ready to drink now...High pitched red and black currant aromas are varnished with hints of licorice and Australian scrub, as blue gum menthol notes streak across the grainy, mid-weighted palate." (2015 vintage)

Huon Hooke "Medium to deep red/purple colour. The aromas are of raspberry and peppermint are attractive, fresh and clean if a touch simple. Medium to full-body and early drinkabiliity is key here. Nice wine, especially if the price is right." (2015 vintage)

Chris Shanahan "The wine delivers Coonawarra’s deep, ripe, berry flavours, medium body and elegant structure, without the overlay of oak or other winemaker inputs seen in wines made for cellaring." (2015 vintage)

Winsor Dobbin, Launceston Examiner "When it comes to affordable reds for everyday drinking it's hard to go past this delicious blend" (2015 vintage)

Campbell Mattinson "Great buying. Beautifully presented"

Ralph Kyte-Powell, The Age "If you like classically minty Coonawarra reds you'll enjoy this."

Majella is one of the most awarded small Australian wineries. It is family-owned and based in the famous Coonawarra wine region of South Australia. The Coonawarra wine region is characterized by its soils, known far and wide as “terra Rossa” - literally “red earth”.

The Coonawarra “Terra Rossa” forms a long, linear shape, little more than 20km long, and in parts only a few kilometres wide.

This soil is regarded as one of the premium viticultural soils of the world and Majella is fortunate that its vineyards are situated on the eastern edge of this famous “red stripe”.

Falstaff "Sparkling green-yellow with strong perlage. Very intense and appealing nose, scented with mandarin and grapefruit, fresh, crisp apple. Round and balanced in approach and course, builds up nicely, in the finish with a slight bitter nuance."

Wine Enthusiast "Fresh lemon, lime and citrus blossom frame the nose of this fun and lively wine. The palate pops with the light perlage of the wine and its vibrant citrus flavors. Clean and crisp on the finish."

Vinepair "Arriving with a slightly subdued nose, this Prosecco opens with subtle notes of white flowers and herbs. Green apple and stone fruit flavors then give way to a floral, citrusy finish. With lively acidity and vibrant bubbles, this is a great option for sparkling wine cocktails."

Raffaele Vecchione - WinesCritic.com "Intriguing and solidly made, it alternates notes of white flowers, lemon peel and sandalwood. Medium-full bodied, creamy structure and a finish of remarkable sweetness."

Zardetto winemakers first lead by the forefather of the estate, Bepi Zardetto have been making award winning wines for close to one hundred years, and prosecco since the 1950s. The terrior of the Veneto region is famed for Prosecco production.

The Zardetto vineyard is located in a complex hill system shaped by ancient glaciers, not far from the left bank of the river Piave, equidistant from the Dolomites. This provides protection which keeps its climate gentle and temperate. It is within this landscape between Conegliano and Valdobbiadene that the vineyard is located, contributing to the regions' fame as Italy's acclaimed exclusive region for Prosecco production.

Prosecco is a pale and light grape indigenous to northern Italy that makes one of the countries most popular sparkling wines. Most Prosecco is made in an extra extra dry, or off dry, style offering fruity aromas of confected pears and peaches. A small percentage are made in a dry Brut style offering bracing green apple and citrus fruit. Since the 2009 vintage the Prosecco zone in the Veneto region was elevated from DOC to DOCG status, joining the ranks with the likes of Barolo, Chianti and Brunello Di Montalcino. At the same time the grape was renamed from Prosecco to Glera. Now anything made outside of the region must be labeled Sparkling Glera, offering extra protection for the zone's 5,000 or so small producers.

1 x Tuscante Governo All'Uso Rosso Toscana IGT 2020 - Tuscany, Italy

96/100 Luca Maroni (2018 vintage)

GOLD - Citadelles du Vin (2018 vintage)
GOLD - Gilbert & Gaillard (2020 vintage)

Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Malvasia Nera

The Winemaker “Ruby red intense and bright. The bouquet opens with floral and ripe red fruit aromas with prominent cherry notes. Dynamic, soft and round with a significant but not overwhelming tannin structure and well-balanced acidity, a unique feature that makes this wine very versatile. The intense aromas originate from the batch of dried, raisined grapes that are used for the production of this wine, being a Tuscan variant of the classic Appassimento method of wine-making."

It unrolls a frank and juicy fruit, completed with a hint of Canaiolo and Malvasia Nera, which brings a touch of freshness. It is a perfect charmer, with silky and integrated tannins, a cuvée with a unique pleasure-price ratio!"

Botter is one of Italy's largest, family-owned wineries and has been producing and exporting wines for almost a century. Today one in every 35 bottles of Italian wine exported is produced by Botter which is managed by the family's third generation of vignerons. Botter is committed to organic and sustainable winemaking practices at many of its vineyards which are located in Puglia, Veneto and Friuli. The winery has won over 100 top international awards for its wines, most notably the gold medal Vinalies Internationales 2014, China Wine & Spirits Awards 2013, Concurs Mondial de Bruxelles 2010, Berliner wine Trophy 2013 and Mundus Vini 2013.

Tuscany is Italy's third most planted region (behind Sicily and Apulia) but it is eighth in terms of output, reflecting both the poor soil of Tuscany and deliberate efforts to limit yields and increase the quality in the wine. After Piedmont and the Veneto, Tuscany produces the third-highest volume of DOC/DOCG wines. More than 80% of the regions' production is in red wine, with the Sangiovese grape being Tuscany's' most prominent grape. Trebbiano is the leading white variety of the region.

The history of viticulture in Tuscany dates back to the Etruscans in the 8th century BC. From the fall of the Roman Empire and throughout the Middle Ages, monasteries were the main purveyors of wines in the region. As the aristocratic and merchant classes emerged, they inherited the share-cropping system of agriculture known as mezzadria. Many Tuscan landowners would turn their half of the grape harvest into wine that would be sold to merchants in Florence. Following the end of the Napoleonic Wars, Tuscany returned to the rule of the Habsburgs. Chianti, Chianti Classico, Brunello di Montalcino, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano and Super Tuscan are Tuscany’s best known wines.

'Governo all'uso Toscano' is a traditional Tuscan winemaking method used since the 14th century and which some well known Tuscan winegrowers have popularised recently.

Sangiovese (or Nielluccio in Corsica), a dark-berried vine, is the most widely planted grape variety in Italy. Virtually synonymous with the red wines of Tuscany, and all the romanticism that goes with the territory, Sangiovese is the core constituent in some of the great names in Italian wine. Italy's love affair with Sangiovese – and indeed the world's – is generations old, though recent grapevine research suggests the variety is not as ancient as once thought.

The Canaiolo Nero grape is particularly widespread in central Italy, used in the production of different DOC and DOCG wines. In particular it is used to impart softness to Chianti to stand alongside the Sangiovese. In addition to the Chianti, Canaiolo nero is used almost exclusively in blends, even for different wines of central Italy. The berry is black, medium, round and smooth with blue-violet consistent skin with much bloom. The bunch is medium, rather sparse, stubby or pyramidal, with one or two wings and with a medium-small, five-lobed, rarely three-lobed, dark green and opaque leaf. The grape Canaiolo nero prefers warm climates and hilly terrain, with good exposure. This grape has low vigor and medium age of maturation. The grape Canaiolo nero gives an intense ruby-red wine, alcoholic, but with low acidity. Blended with Sangiovese adds flavor and aroma.

Malvasia Nera is a dark skinned variety within the Malvasia grape family and it is used for the production of red wines, it can produce dry, sparkling and sweet wines and also passiti and rosé wines and is widely used in blends rather than being used to produce a varietal wine. The grape is cultivated across Italy but Piedmont is the best known region for producing varietal Malvasia Nera wines whilst in Apulia, Malvasia Nera is blended with Negroamaro. The Malvasia Nera grape produces wines that are light to medium bodied with notes of cherries, plums and chocolate.

(2017 vintage)

Halliday Australian Wine Companion "Many of its wines offer exceptional value for money."

The Australian Wine "(Australai's N# 1 Wine Critic James) Halliday listed Willow Bridge among his ‘Dark Horse Wineries of 2013’ and then his ‘Best Wineries of 2014’. The estate has also won Most Successful Western Australian Exhibitor at the Perth Wine Show three times!"

Halliday Australian Wine Companion "Willow Bridge Estate is family owned and operated by principals Jeff and Vicki Dewar, who bought the picturesque 180-hectare hillside property in 1996 after an exhaustive search of the state for the ideal vineyard site from which to realize their shared vision of producing world class wines which are both opulent and accessible. The estate is located in a hidden jewel of an area known as the Ferguson Valley (in Geograph Bay in Western Australia) which, at that time, was home to only a few small vineyards. Immediately planting 60 hectares of vines and then building a state of the art winery (the first winery in the area) in time for their first vintage in 2000, established Willow Bridge as the pioneering estate of the area and demonstrated the family’s confidence in the property and resolve to see their vision become reality."

Willow Bridge Estate continues to attract acclaim for the relatively newly established wine growing region of Geographe which is located adjacent to its more famous neighbour Margaret River, in Western Australia. Wine critcs have heralded the winery for producing quality, good value wines. Winemaking is by veteran Western Australian winemaker, Kim Horton.

The Geographe wine growing region is located near the southern end of the Western Australia's Indian Ocean coast, between the emerging Peel region and famous Margaret River – with which its terroir shares several similarities. The best wines grown in this region include fruity Cabernet Sauvignon (often blended with Merlot), gamey Shiraz, rich, citrusy Chardonnay, and grassy 'SSB' blends of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon. The region's profile is increasing with several Geographe wineries winning national and international awards annually. At the heart of Western Australia's wine industry, the region supplies more than 10% of Western Australia's wine.

Semillon Sauvignon Blanc is a classic white wine blend. It is most widely produced in France (most notably Bordeaux's Graves district), where both Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon are well-established varieties. It is also a popular wine blend in Australia (particularly in Margaret River), South Africa, the United States, Argentina. The versatile blend is typically made into crisp, dry wines, but it is also the blend of choice for the world's most prestigious sweet wine style, Sauternes. The blend is endowed with vibrant acidity and grassy aromas by Sauvignon Blanc, and its structure and mouthfeel from Semillon.

Huon Hooke "Deep ruby colour without purple tints, ............ with some developed raspberry, chocolate nuances. There's a whiff of oak and a lot of developed characteristics."

Tastings.com " Black garnet color. Aromas and flavors of candied bacon, purple fruit, nutmeg, and black pepper with a slightly chewy, crisp, dry-yet-fruity medium-full body and a smooth, charming, medium-length finish with notes of plum pudding, grilled spice cake, and sage tea with well-integrated tannins and moderate oak flavor. A sturdy Shiraz for grilled meats."

Jeni Port (Halliday) "Upfront and sweet-fruited red that is ready to go right now. Ripe red berries, blue fruits and juniper spice drive the engine. Smooth and succulent on the palate. Meets the price point perfectly." (2017 Vintage)

Aaron Brasher "Ripe, dark cherry, spice and cool, minty aromatics. Flavours are driven by a crunchy, tangy, red cherry spiciness that is lively, fresh and bright. Quite a straightforward wine that needs a little time for the angles to soften" (2017 Vintage)

The Winemaker “Red and black fruits abound, supported by earthy and savoury characters as well as licorice and spice. Complex length of flavour.”

Winestate Magazine "Glenlofty’s vineyards have been carefully nurtured since 1995 in the cool-climate foothills of Victoria’s Pyrenees. Formerly blended into premium wines produced by Penfolds, Seppelts, Rosemount and Brown Bros, Glenlofty’s remarkable fruit has been bottled under its own Glenlofty Wines label only since 2013. Early industry applause has been rapid, as demonstrated by its awards."

The award winning Australian winery Glenlofty has vineyards located 340 metres above sea level in the heart of one of Australia's most famous cool climate wine growing regions, the Victorian Pyrenees. Here the climate, ancient granitic soil types and varying slopes mirror those of France’s northern Rhône region. Until 2010 Glenlofty sent their cool-climate premium fruit for blending into high-end wines under Seppelts and Penfolds labels. In 2010 the 140 ha vineyards were acquired by the pioneering Richmond-Smith family, well-known in Australian agriculture since 1839. The first wines released under the Glenlofty brand appeared in 2013, and were an immediate success, winning gold medals across the world.

Shiraz is the name given to the dark-skinned Syrah grape when grown in Australia and selected pockets of the New World. Though genetically identical, the stylistic differences between Shiraz and Syrah are usually pronounced.

Shiraz is so important to Australian viticulture that it is the most planted grape variety in the majority of Australian vineyards and has become virtually synonymous with the country's wine regions, and in particular the Barossa Valley.

James Suckling "Baked apples, pie crust, apricots and hazelnuts on the nose. Some lemon curd. Medium body with a rounded finish. Clean and simple."

James Suckling "A fresh and citric, medium-bodied chardonnay with some nice, toasty notes and a touch of positive tannin supporting the rather bold finish." (2021 vintage)

Sommelier Reviews "Delicious light, fruity and pleasing white..."

The Winemaker "Fresh nose of peach, pear, a hint of citrus, elegant and unctuous body, a touch of almond, citrus."

Robert Simpson "Captivating nose melds fresh herbs and cut grass with fresh peach and hints of honey and spice. Supple, rich and fresh – showing the strength of the vintage – offering a lovely touch of sweetness and just enough acidity to its flavors of peach, lemon, flowers and stone." (2018 vintage)

100% Chardonnay

Originally from Bordeaux, the Lavau family has been involved with winemaking for generations, and have had vineyards ranging from Bordeaux to Tunisia. In 1964 they were seduced by the richness and quality of the Provencal soil, and settled down to make wine in the Rhone Valley.

Envyfol offers a range of wines that are well crafted and undervalued. Made with the best grapes from exceptional areas throughout France, Envyfol offers the traditional and refined quality of French wine.

The cellars of Envyfol are currently managed by brothers Benoit and Frederic Lavau, who work in partnership with 350 different grape growers throughout France to produce exceptional wines. Benoit is a frequent visitor to Singapore and Pop Up Wine events.

Languedoc-Roussillon is a hugely important and historic wine region that produces over a third of French wine each year. The output of Languedoc Roussillon exceeds that of the entire United States, and has hundreds of thousands of acres under vine, growing a wide range of both red and white grapes. Languedoc-Roussillon is one of the oldest and most important wine regions in the world, with a history that stretches back millennia to the ancient Greeks, who adored its warm and humid Mediterranean climate which is ideal for viticulture.

Chardonnay is one of the world’s most popular grapes, Chardonnay is made in a wide range of styles from lean, to rich, creamy white wines aged in oak. Bolder, richer, full-bodied and buttery Chardonnays are made using oak and are produced in California, Burgundy, and Australia. Unoaked chardonnays such as Chablis and those produced in Chile, New Zealand, and other parts of France are leaner and often crisp and minerally, with delicate flavors. By law, if a label says “Chablis,” it must be Chardonnay.
