Rich and full bodied, Arran seems to suit red wine, and this Port Cask finish is testament to that. Great maturity and at 50% for additional complexity. This expression was released in 2010.

Nose - Nice full bodied, tasty nose. 50% abv works very good. Sweet but somewhat closed though. Dark fruits, a hint of grapefruit, honey and clearly port influences. Sultana's, plumbs and dates.

Taste - Creamy, soft and thick bodied arrival. It remains very gentle. Again the port casks are clearly present. Port dominates the palate. 

Finish - Medium length. Warm and woody. European oak orientated finish. Slightly dry.

Isle of Arran Distillers is one of the few remaining independent distilleries in Scotland. They are based at Lochranza on the Isle of Arran, one of the most beautiful and famous in Scotland which lies off the west coast between Ayrshire and Kintyre.
