Falstaff "Brilliant pale straw yellow with persistent mousse. Freshly cut pear, banana, white peach and floral on the nose. The palate is carried by a delicate texture, appealing acidity underpinned by fine bubbles, juicy finish."

Tom Cannavan "This blingy Prosecco comes in a metallic gold bottle, I have to say the wine inside is a very nice, dry expression of a vintage-dated Prosecco. Extremely pale in colour, the mousse is foamy and fresh and the aromas are very summery: crisp pears and apples. In the mouth it is light and refreshing, with very good, crisp lemony acidity and a decent length too

Winemaker "Soft, harmonious and elegant, with a slim body and with lively yet balanced acidity."

100% Glera

Bottega alcohol brand, is a Family Vintners & Master Distillers from Italy. Bottega brand is a result of the work of three generations involved in the world of wine and grappa. Domenico Bottega was a wine trader and passionate oenologist (an expert in the arts and techniques of wine). Domenico’s son, Aldo Bottega expanded his father’s passion to grappa and together with his wife Rosina, founded the Bottega Distillery in Pianzano di Godega. After the founder of Bottega Distillery died, his son Sandro became the company director and with the support of his sister Barbara and brother Stefano, they took over the company. In a few years, the Distillery started to gain recognition thanks to their innovative distillation system and to be able to reduce the alcohol content in grappa to make it softer and more delicate to the mouth.

The premises are located in a large, 19th Century farmstead, refurbished according to state-of-the art criteria of environmental friendliness, and surrounded by 10 hectares of vineyards. The whole ground, at the heart of an area with a high density of water veins, is rich in water all year around. The area, especially suited for growing vines, lies halfway between Venice, the capital of art and culture, and the Dolomites, wonderful mountains that can be clearly seen in sunny days. With the goal of producing and distributing the best Italian wine, grappa, spirits, and food all over the world.

Bottega Gold is a Prosecco DOC, obtained by the vinification of Glera Grapes. The cultivation area of Glera grapes is located in the hilly area of the province of Treviso up to the slopes of Valdobbiandene, which is close to the Venetian Prealps. The hilly terrain is subject to high temperature ranges between day and night. This variation in temperature enables the development of finer, more elegant and at the same time more intense aromas.

Peter, Moser, Falstaff "Dark ruby garnet, violet reflections, subtle lightening of the edges. Red berry confit underlaid with delicate herbs and spices, fine tobacco nuances. Medium body, also red berries on the palate, delicate tannins, salty and mineral notes, lemony finish, uncomplicated food accompaniment."

Falstaff "Strong ruby garnet, delicate ocher reflections, broader edge brightening. Nuances of pickled cherries, fine forest berry confit, floral touch, very delicate wood spice. Medium complexity, heart cherries, pleasant sweetness, round tannins, freshly structured, mineral and persistent, a versatile food accompaniment." (2018 Vintage)

Decanter "Needing time to open, this starts off well with firm redcurrant and raspberry fruits, but finishes a little abruptly with touches of oak. (2018 Vintage)

Wine Spectator "Light-bodied, offering an herb-infused profile of cherry and pomegranate fruit flavors, with tangy cedar hints. Drink now through 2023. 5,333 cases made. — JM" (2016 Vintage)

Falstaff "Dark ruby garnet, violet reflections, subtle lightening of the edges, attractive dark berry fruit, delicate notes of cassis and liquorice, black cherries, tobacco nuances. Full-bodied, fine blackberry confit, fruity sweetness, well-integrated tannins, sticks, a pleasant, silky food wine with aging potential." (2014 Vintage)

Decanter "A great second wine for drinking now, this has lashings of damson fruit to back up the acidity. The tannins are not as intense as they would be in a great vintage but it's good quality, with polish and real appeal. (2012 Vintage)

Falstaff "Deep dark ruby garnet, violet reflections, delicate lightening of the edges, attractive cherry fruit, fine wild berry aromas, a hint of cedar, blackberries and chocolate, inviting bouquet. Juicy, powerful, present, still a bit too edgy tannins, sweet extract on the finish, chocolaty finish, a promising food accompaniment." (2011 Vintage)

Decanter "This works well as a second wine: it has approachability but is still serious. It shows good rich fruit on the nose, and although it's a little subdued right now, closing down through the mid-palate, the edges are starting to soften and the dark fruits are well defined. (2011 Vintage)

Falstaff "Dark ruby garnet, violet reflections, delicate rim lightening. In the nose, dark berry confit with delicate leaves, delicate nougat and herbal spices. Juicy, good complexity, fine plum fruit, well-integrated tannins, touch of chocolate on the finish, good potential for development." (2010 Vintage)

Made by one of France's 'Top 10' winemakers, famous for his 1855 classified "Grand Cru" Bordeaux. This wine is that wine's sought after brother!

Winemaker, Jean-Luc Zuger has been praised by wine media as "miraculous".

Winestyle "...elegant, full-bodied, harmonious, with hints of ripe cherry, black currant and blackberry, spicy notes, pleasant acidity, soft woody nuances and dry long finish"

Le Point magazine "Candied cherry, beautiful expressive nose, soft palate, velvety tannins, fresh, good finesse, a finish that will give you a surprise, superb fruit … all the power of a Cabernet." (French translation)

The Wine Cellar Insider "Winemaker, Jean-Luc Zuger is on fire at Chateau Malescot St. Exupery. The wines being made at the property today are stunning!"

Chateau Malescot St. Exupery has a long history in the Bordeaux wine region and is a Grand Cru Classé Chateau in the original Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855. Malescot St. Exupery can be traced all the way back to 1616 when the Margaux estate was owned by the Escousses family. The Escousses were best known as notaries for the King.

Near the close of the century, in 1697 the Bordeaux wine estate was sold to Simon Malescot. Once Simon became the current owner, he followed the tradition of the time and changed the name of the estate to Malescot. Like the previous owner, Malescot also had a connection to royalty. He was the attorney-general to Louis XIV. Malescot remained with the Malescot family until the French revolution. At that point in time, the large estate was divided between three family members.

Over the next several years, the formerly robust Bordeaux wine estate of Malescot was split and split again. In 1813, Francois Benoit Dunogues purchased the chateau, reselling it in 1825 to Louis Pierlot. After Pierlot’s demise, his heirs had no interested in the wine business. They quickly resold the property to Comte Saint-Exupery.

In the tradition of Bordeaux chateau in the Medoc , following the lead of Malescot, he also added his name to the estate. The property was now known as Chateau Malescot Saint-Exupery.

The Zuger family bought it in 1955. At the time of the sale to the Zuger family Malescot St. Exupery was in such poor shape, only 7 hectares of vines were planted. Extensive replanting of vineyards took place and within a decade, 80% of the vineyard was planted. The Zuger family, headed by Jean Luc Zuger, who took over in 1994, continue to own and manage Chateau Malescot St. Exupery today. Michel Rolland is the consultant.

The vineyards of Chateau Malescot St. Exupery are situated on a terroir of gravel, chalk and clay soils with iron deposits. The vines are planted to 50% Cabernet Sauvignon , 10% Cabernet Franc , 35% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot . On average, the vines are 35 years of age. The vineyards is planted to a vine density of 10,000 vines per hectare.

Bordeaux is one of the world's most prolific wine regions, it is also one of the the most famous and prestigious.

Bordeaux's climate is well moderated by its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean and the presence of the various rivers (the Dordogne, the Garonne and the Gironde Estuary into which they flow). The region takes its name (which translates roughly as "next to the waters") from the port city of Bordeaux, which serves as its logistical and administrative center.

Eighty-nine per cent of wine produced in Bordeaux is red, and made by more than 8,500 producers (which are also known as châteaux).

Top 50 of Australia’s Most Collected wines for 2019 – #11
Top 5 Rieslings – #1 - Gourmet Traveller Wine
Langton Classification VI: Rated ‘Exceptional’
Wine Ark: ‘Australia’s Most Collected Riesling’

Erin Larkin "This wine retains the energy and drive of Polish Hill, yet its fruit concentration and ripeness has softened out any hard edges. It's beautifully fragrant, subtle even, and the palate is long and pure with pith-like texture and excellent length. Lovely drink and ready now."

Huon Hooke "Very light-yellow colour with a trace of green in the tint. The aroma is ethereal and perfumed, summoning lime leaf and lemon zest, the palate adding a touch of baked lemon pudding, while the finish is long and full and underlined by a trace of grip which adds structure. A powerful young riesling, and very stylish. "

Decanter "The clean, fresh aromas of just-picked citrus fruits belie the enormous power of lime juice and rich lemon pith that immediately fills the front palate on this latest vintage. There’s poise in addition to the power though, with multiple layers of rounded citrus and mineral flavours enjoying a luxurious textural roll through the mid-palate. Perfect integration of fresh citric acid carries the pure fruit qualities through extraordinary length to a crisp, lip-smacking finish." (2020 Vintage)

Jane Faulkner (Halliday) "This wine retains the energy and drive of Polish Hill, yet its fruit concentration and ripeness has softened out any hard edges. It's beautifully fragrant, subtle even, and the palate is long and pure with pith-like texture and excellent length. Lovely drink and ready now." (2020 Vintage)

Huon Hooke "Light, bright yellow hue. Reserved, discreet, subtly yeasty aromas, bright and clean and scented with dried flowers. It's very intense in the mouth, showing concentration and drive, the juicy fruit of the fore-palate morphing into a firm, dry back-palate and a long tail. An excellent wine, of superior fruit intensity and persistence. Great cellaring potential " (2020 Vintage)

James Suckling "Stony and mineral character here with a spicy, wet-stone nose and a wealth of lime and light peach, as well as talcum powder. Chiseled palate with linear acidity and drive. Fresh, long and quite expressive already. Has the potential to improve in bottle as well. Drink or hold. Screw cap." (2020 Vintage)

Ralph Kyte-Powell "The colour is pale straw with a greenish tinge and the nose offers concentration that sets it apart from most peers. Aromas of lime sherbet, pineapple, spice, musky florals and steel seem riper and richer than usual, and the palate follows suit with great depth and minerally power, tingly acid backbone, firm structure and lingering finish. It will no doubt build more complexity in bottle, but it may be a Polish Hill to drink a little earlier than many previous vintages." (2020 Vintage)

Tyson Stelzer "Such is Jeffrey Grosset’s precise and refined approach that even a dry, low-yielding season has done nothing to thwart the ethereal fragrance, breathtaking purity, green-tinted energy, scintillating acidity, inimitable slate texture and impeccable phenolic delicacy of the phenomenal site. This is a vintage of fantastic concentration, heightened character and enticing jubilation." (2019 Vintage)

Decanter "More intense than many young Polish Hill Rieslings, this 2019 retains great poise and shape within its rich frame. Floral notes abound – violets and lavender, lemon and lime blossom – and such a heady perfume points towards a similarly rich palate. Intense juicy lime is carried on a tight acid spine that also bears mineral notes of shale and schist. Complex yet crisp and very persistent." (2019 Vintage)

James Halliday "The sails of the ship are still tightly furled, but the length and balance will stand the wine well as it ages (for decades) elaborating on the flavours of the Polish Hill River district as it always does." (2019 Vintage)

Campbell Mattinson "Super dry. Super minerally. Excellent intensity. Purity, absolutely. Hay, wheat, lime, flowery apples and talc, and of course that quartz-like quality. It’s tight through the finish, to the point where it doesn’t quite feel as long as it should; it will relax in time, and all will be sorted.” (2019 Vintage)

Huon Hooke "This is typical Polish: a style that will reward cellaring, but gives plenty of pleasure now. The aroma is very refined, restrained and intense, with an array of floral aromas, from fresh flowers to dried wildflowers and potpourri. Lemon pith, too. Intense yet restrained." (2019 Vintage)

Jancis Robinson "Subtle and layered. Really exciting already because of the density. Tense but the fruit extract means you could actually drink it now." (2019 Vintage)

Robert Parker "The 2019 Polish Hill Riesling boasts hints of baby powder and lime alongside green apple and mint on the nose. It's medium-bodied, with a pristine, almost watery feel on the palate, but it simultaneously delivers fascinating intensity of flavor and tremendous length, with a gentle, softly dusty texture on the finish. It should easily cellar for more than a decade." (2019 Vintage)

Decanter "A full, rich nose – with lavender, fresh herb and bright, zesty lime – suggests power, yet the palate opens to a more gentle weave of tightly integrated flavours. A rich mid-palate has a hint of lemon pith among intense brown lime and cool slate, all carried on a mighty girder of acid on a lengthy spine. Bone-dry, intense, persistent; leaves the mouth thirsty for more. (2018 Vintage)

Decanter Magazine ~ The World’s Top 10 White Winemakers #6 Jeffrey Grosset

"When the young Jeffrey Grosset launched his own winery in the Clare Valley in the early 1980’s, he was swimming against the tide. Back then, Chardonnay was the rising star of Australian Wine. But Grosset wanted to make Riesling, and to focus on letting the grapes speak for themselves. The rest of the Australian wine industry has, of course, caught up with Grosset since, thanks in part to the example set by this focused, restlessly intelligent winemaker. By consistently producing arguably Australia’s two best Rieslings – the flowery, lime-rich Watervale and the steely, firm Polish Hill – Grosset has not only helped steer the reversal in this variety’s fortunes, but has provided one of the country’s most powerful arguments in favour of the reality of terroir"

Grosset Wines are an independently owned winery producing highly regarded premium wines. Established in 1981, the winery is situated in the historic township of Auburn at the southern tip of the Clare Valley, 100 kilometres north of Adelaide.

Jeffrey Grosset, owner and founder, has always been an innovator, challenging tradition and questioning accepted practices. He campaigned to institute the legal integrity of the Riesling grape in Australia, was a leading proponent for the introduction of screwcap closures and privately funded research into the subject.

Grosset Wines’ philosophy has remained steadfast over thirty years. The emphasis is on purity of fruit. The estate vineyards, which are ACO certified organic, are hand tended and each bunch of grapes is harvested at optimum ripeness.

The winemaking process is gentle and uncomplicated. With dedication, discipline and the application of knowledge garnered through decades of experience, the result is the finest expression of variety and place.

Clare Valley is the northernmost wine region within the Mount Lofty Ranges zone of South Australia, located 81 miles (130km) north of the state capital, Adelaide. It is one of the most picturesque wine regions of Australia, with a tradition in winemaking going back to the early 19th century when the first vines were planted. Riesling reigns supreme in Clare Valley. The drier styles are recognized as some of the best in the world.

Riesling is a light-skinned, aromatic grape of German origin which is – if the majority of top wine critics are to be believed – the world's finest white wine grape variety. The Riesling vine holds a very different place in the wine world to such great grapes as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot or Chardonnay. While these immensely popular varieties have conquered every corner of the winegrowing world, Riesling is conspicuously absent from the core wine regions of France, Spain and Italy. Riesling's home is the regions that trace the middle Rhine and the lower Mosel, two of Europe's great wine rivers.

Halliday Wine Companion Wine Awards 2021 'Winery of the Year'

Biodynamic

Andrew Caillard MW, The Vintage Journal "Deep colour. A classic Henschke style with developed blackberry, cassis, dark chocolate, roasted walnut aromas. Richly flavoured, complex and bittersweet with attractive ripe blackberry, blackcurrant, roasted walnut, hint chestnut notes, sage and tobacco, lovely mid-palate density and fine supple chocolaty tannins. Finishes claret firm with a fine graphite plume. A superb vintage in this series."

Dave Brookes, Halliday Wine Companion "Detail is a wonderful thing. If you stick your nose in the glass and close your eyes, perhaps tilt your head just so, you can pick out the individual components of this wine, yet they mesh together perfectly. Juicy berry and plum fruits, abundant spice, fine-grind tannin grip, a fine lacy acid line and an elegant, perfectly poised, slow fade out of pure fruit."

Ray Jordan, Wine Pilot "It was a super vintage in both the Barossa and Eden Valley. This is a blend of shiraz dominant with contributions from cabernet, cabernet franc and merlot. Nose displays those rich dark fruit characters that point to a fully ripe mix of fruit. The palate has a grainy. slightly chalky texture which allows the generous fruit flavours to build and hold their lines to the long finish. Dry, slightly savoury earthy finish with a trace of vineyard ironstone."

Ken Gargett, Wine Pilot "Black/purple in colour, the nose exudes concentrated notes of cassis and blackberries. There are warm earth tones, mocha, coffee grinds and licorice. A hint of fresh blueberries. Good focus, there are considerable tannins here, but they are soft and supple and help carry the wine to its lingering and persistent finish."

James Suckling "Spicy and creamy shiraz-based blend with velvety tannins framing a silky core of dark fruit, licorice, cloves, grilled herbs and spices. Five spice and smoked paprika coming through. Full-bodied yet elegant."

Stuart Knox, The Real Review "Deep ruby red in the glass. Fragrant and lifted with dark berry, violets and earth spices showing. Medium in weight yet carrying an underlying power that demands your attention. There’s a seamless nature to the wine that suggests a great blending hand in the background, not one note out of place. Great flow and it caresses the palate incredibly long and lingering."

Nick Stock "Cedar, dried berries and plums, hard brown spices and mint all intertwined here, with ripe red-plum, blueberry and gingerbread notes. The palate holds a ripe and dense core of quite dark fruit aromas with a smoothly concentrated finish. A blend of shiraz, cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc and merlot."

Tyson Stelzer, Halliday Wine Companion Awards "I love the transparency of the Barossa's cooler seasons, in such articulate detail here that all 4 varieties are clearly visible in all their glory. Unashamedly medium bodied, refreshing and enticing, yet in no way underpowered, simplistic or short lived. Crunchy berry fruits, fine-ground tannins and vibrant acidity unite to marvellous effect and outstanding line and length. It takes some skill, dexterity and humility in the winery to allow fruit of such elegance to really sing. A classic Barossa blend with a long future before it." (2017 vintage)

Huon Hooke, The Real Review "Very good deep red colour with a good purple tint. The bouquet is sweetly raspberry-ish and very Eden Valley in style, earthy-spicy also, with a bouquet of dried herbs and dried flowers, especially sage. The wine is deliciously fruit-sweet and almost lush in the mouth, the masses of fine, subtly drying tannins keeping the finish and aftertaste neat and disciplined. A lovely wine, approachable already but certainly built to last and will be better if you can keep your hands off it a few years" (2017 vintage)

James Suckling "This cooler vintage shuffles cabernet to the fore, with leafy redcurrants and red berries, as well as some first-wood tones. The palate is more supple and reflects the influence of shiraz with blackberry and plum flavors set amid quite fleshy texture. A blend of shiraz, cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc and merlot." (2017 vintage)

Decanter "With a splash of Cabernet Franc and Merlot, Henschke’s twist on a classic Aussie Shiraz-Cabernet has no shortage of interest and layers to its fresh black berry and plum flavours. Riffs of blackcurrant bud, black pepper, black olive, fennel, cedar and sandalwood and a neat touch of charred nutty oak bring delicious savoury nuance. Emphatic but elegant acidity and fine, slippery tannins make for an involving, energetic palate." (2017 vintage)

Robert Parker "The oak imparts a bit of smokiness and mocha overtones to the nose, but this is a largely fruit-driven effort, with ripe cherries, boysenberries and blackberries touched with hints of eucalyptus and sage. It's medium to full-bodied, smooth and streamlined on the palate, with a soft dusting of tannins and lingering berry and herb flavors on the finish." (2017 vintage)

Wine Enthusiast, Christina Pickard "This blend of old-vine Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc is open and fragrant yet powerful and dense right from the get go. Concentrated damson plum and black currant are backed by notes of dark chocolate, licorice, eucalyptus and tomato leaf, with a sanguine nuance. The tannins are powerful and drying but hold the silky fruit neatly in place." (2016 vintage)

Robert Parker "A blend of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the 2016 Keyneton Euphonium beautifully marries the mint and herb of the Bordeaux varieties with the plumminess and spice of the Shiraz. Hints of mint, tea and violets accent dark, plummy fruit, then finish with savory overtones of black olive. It's full-bodied and supple."

Decanter "A sumptuous, savoury twist on classic Shiraz-Cabernet blends, full of rich, velvety cassis fruit, dark chocolate, cured black olive and dried herbs. Splashes of Merlot and Cabernet Franc bring accents of blueberry, spicy fruitcake, tea, tomato plant and ketchup. A fretwork of tannins and juicy acidity makes for a dynamic interplay of flavours and textures, concluding with Cabernet Sauvignon's gravel, grip and focus. A full-bodied, flavoursome feast." (2016 vintage)

Falstaff "There is a brightness to the dark ruby hue; the Cabernet component makes its presence felt with wafts of blackcurrants and mulberries alongside soused plums, tobacco, dried herbs and its really spicy. It’s no wall-flower either as it has a richness and density with plump ripe tannins and decent length following through. Drink 2021-2027. J.F." (2016 vintage)

Stuart Knox, The Real Review "Very deep and intense ruby-red colour throughout the glass. Mulberry and wakame aromatics. A medium-weighted shiraz that still shows bright fruit with a layer of tobacco leaf and bracken savoury. Fine-boned tannins give good length and drive. Supple and harmonious." (2016 vintage)

65% Shiraz, 23% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc & 3% Merlot

Keyneton Euphonium is a beautiful composition of shiraz from up to 50-year-old vines growing in the Eden and Barossa Valleys, blended with cabernet sauvignon, merlot and cabernet franc from selected vineyards in both regions. Matured in 20% new and 80% seasoned French oak hogsheads for 18 months prior to blending and bottling.

Henschke is regarded as the best medium-sized red wine producer in Australia. Critic James Halliday describes Henschke's "Hill of Grace" as "second only to Penfolds Grange as Australia's red wine icon". The winery has gone from strength to strength over the past three decades under the guidance of winemaker Stephen and viticulturist Prue Henschke. The red wines fully capitalize on the very old, low-yielding, high-quality vines and are superbly made with sensitive but positive use of new small oak. All Henschke vineyards are farmed biodynamically.

Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every wine growing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Veneto is one of the country's most widely used appellations. It covers a broad range of wine styles from Veneto, the engine room of Italy's wine industry. Each year, a substantial number of reds, whites and rosés are produced and sold under this title, in both sparkling and still forms, and even as sweet passito.

Merlot is a red wine grape variety with strong historic ties to Bordeaux and the southwest of France. It is the predominant variety in most wines from Saint-Émilion and Pomerol, the area in which the variety originated. Merlot is now widely planted in wine regions across the world and, in terms of the volumes of wine produced internationally, it is rivalled only by its Bordeaux companion, Cabernet Sauvignon.

Neil Dubois "Stunning....a great wine which drinks like a right bank Bordeaux from a great vintage. This is another outstanding wine [from Tenuta Santa Maria]."

The Winemaker - "Complex aroma with hints of wild berries and dried plums, accompanied by notes of coffee, eucalyptus and vanilla. Well-structured, soft tannins, well-balanced acidity and consistency. Intense, with a fine liquorice aftertaste. Expressing the local terroir with an international grape variety by combining Merlot with a unique Veronese tradition of the drying known as appassimento. Some of the grapes are picked in late September and left to dry for about a month in protected airy locales on the estate. "

Winestyle "fresh fruity taste with a dense structure and a perfect balance of acidity, sweetness and spice tones. The wine has an intense aroma with notes of black currant, plum, raspberry, cherry and hints of spice."

Decanter - '16 Distinctive Wines from the Veneto' "Ripe black cherry and dark plum notes mix with hints of eucalyptus, graphite and spice box in this finely integrated red. Fresh and focused, with light tannins and accents of espresso and graphite on the finish. Merlot. Drink now through 2023. 400 cases. (2008 vintage)

Wine Enthusiast "Decima Aurea is a refined and elegant expression of Merlot with deep and long aromas of ripe cherry, blackberry pie, Indian spice, clove and old spice. The wine shows the sophistication of age, but also promises years of cellar aging."

Centuries old, Tenuta Santa Maria all Pieve is located in the heart of the Valpolicella Classica. The 100-acre producer is comprised of two estates, one in the Valpolicella Classico zone and the second in the Illasi Valley. Tenuta Santa Maria all Pieve was established by Gaetano Bertani in 1850 and today it is owned and operated by his descendants, Gaetano Bertani and his sons Giovanni and Guglielmo. Since its sixteenth-century origins this elegant estate has been known for the production of fine wines, especially for its for Amarone Classico and Valpolicella Ripasso. It has a stunning chateau and walled vineyards. Since the 1800's the estate has been making wines using the Guyot Method, a technique with an emphasis on high density, and low yield harvests.
