Big Peat has received yet another festive get-up! This is the 2019 edition of Big Peat at Christmas, an annual release of the Islay blended malt from Douglas Laing.

Whiskey Reviews “While this latest festive release from Islay’s favourite fictitious fisherman may not offer anything particularly new or unique, it is nevertheless a solid dram that supplies everything you could possibly want from a bottle of Big Peat. The higher strength successfully dials the flavour up a notch without blistering the palate with heat and the asking price remains within the realms of reason – something which can’t be said for many Islay whiskies these days.”

Nose - Burnt wood and salted caramel, with a whiff of sea air.
Palate - Juicy stone fruit and more caramel. Still plenty smoky, with loads of toasty peat wafts.
Finish - Ash, drying baking spice and another helping of sea breeze.

Big Peat is a marriage of Single Malt Scotch Whiskies only from the island of Islay. With Caol Ila spirit bringing sweetness, Bowmore the perfect balance, Ardbeg a medicinal, earthy quality and Port Ellen, a degree of elegance, Big Peat represents all that is Islay in a bottle.
