Wine Club De Vin (Canada's largest wine club)" Intense aromas of green leaf, gooseberries and greengages with limes, curry leaves and fennel: the same flavours show on the palate creating a flavoursome and distinctive wine."

The Winemaker “From the near perfect 2018 vintage this wine is typical of the style that comes from Margaret River tropical fruit mineral layers, and crisp acidity.”

Marko Schwinn "This Gold medal winning wine has intense aromas of tropical fruit on the nose followed by a tight combination of juicy fruit and minerality on the palate. It is mouth filling with plenty of textural layers and lively acidity. This is a very well structured wine. Even the most one eyed Marlborough NZ fan will think about switching to this Chapman Grove." (2016 vintage)

Chapman Grove Wines is a small winery focussed on making limited edition fine wines from Margaret River, Western Australia.

Chapman Grove focuses on producing exceptional fruit which is all 100% estate grown to create its world-class wines. Its range includes varieties most suited to the Margaret River climate, with French oak used to bring out flavours of the terroir, creating a true expression of the region.

The winery achieved the highly coveted 5 Red Star rating from James Halliday within three short years of first entering the Wine Companion in 2009. Margaret River is a highly respected wine region in the southwestern corner of Western Australia. Famous for having a more "European" wine style than its counterparts across the country,

Margaret River has made its name through its unusually refined Cabernet Sauvignon (often blended with Merlot), gamey Shiraz, intensely citrusy Chardonnay, and refreshingly grassy "SSB'" blends of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon. Margaret River's winemakers are particularly proud of it's temperate, coastal location – which is very similar to that of Bordeaux.

The Sauvignon Blanc taste is one of the most identifiable in the world of white wines for a few reasons. First, it always has crisp, high acidity. Second, it has a chemical compound called pyrazine which gives grassy, herbal or bell pepper flavors. When grown in cooler climates or picked early, the herbaceous green character is most prominent. In warmer climates or allowed to hang longer on the vine, the pyrazine character diminishes in favor of riper fruit flavors ranging from grapefruit, to passion fruit and guava.

James Halliday Wine Companion - "A wine on the cusp of silver medal standard." (2013 vintage)

The Winemaker “Bright & vibrantly rich in colour with a lovely perfume and hints of wild raspberries dusted with icing sugar and cloves on the nose. This is a drier style of Rosé with a full and vibrant palate showcasing powerful summer fruit flavours with enough acidity to enable it to be matched with a variety of dishes.”

Rosé derives its name from the French word for pink. In Spain it is rosado and in Italy rosato. Rosé’s flavours and styles are as varied as the food it matches.

Rosé predates white and red wine with ancient rosé-style wines dating back 8,000 years. The colour of a rosé can vary dramatically. A deep fuchsia pink rosé may be bone-dry, though it’s likely to be full flavoured given balance by a gentle squeeze of tannin. Tannin primarily comes from the skin of a grape – as does colour. It’s tannin that sets rosé apart from white and red wine. Almost all wine grapes have clear juice; it’s the skins that give the colour.

Grenache is the most popular grape used in rosé, with its lifted confectionary aromas, juicy red fruit flavours and mild-mannered tannins creating the textbook triumvirate for rosé. The temperate Provence region of France is home to some of the world’s most accliamed rosé, perhaps naturally, given it’s widely planted with grenache and its Rhône varietals; mourvèdre, cinsault and syrah.
