Bob Campbell "This wine has a classic, delicate Pinot colour, bright and transparent, suggesting a wine of finesse
and gentle power. It opens up with a range of subtle floral nuances, red raspberry and lavender, also notes of spice, green tea and an earthy minerality."

James Suckling "Attractive, fresh roses and red cherries with strawberry and forest-woody aromas, too. The palate has a very vibrant, fresh and quite lithe feel with acidity driving the finish in fresh, assertive mode. Drink or hold."

Bob Campbell "Moderately concentrated pinot noir with red-fleshed plum, charcuterie, crushed herbs, new leather and cranberry flavours. A taut, high-energy wine that should develop well with bottle age. " (2019 Vintage)

Vinum Wine Magazine "Restrained, Burgundian-looking aromas with notes of ripe pickled cherries, also ivy, pruning and chalky mineral notes. Well structured on the palate, appears honest and elegant. Delicate bitter note in the finish." (2017 Vintage)

Bob Campbell "Rich, fleshy pinot noir, with appealing fruit sweetness and luscious plum, ripe cherry and nutty oak flavours. The wine seems softer, silkier and more accessible than I remember it. It will no doubt age well, but can be savoured without guilt right now" (2017 Vintage)

Robert Parker "Pale ruby colored, the 2014 Fromm Vineyard Pinot Noir displays a beautiful kirsch, potpourri and cinnamon stick nose with hints of red currant jelly and roses. Light to medium-bodied with a firm backbone of chewy tannins and refreshing acidity, it offers a great intensity of perfumed red berry flavors and a long finish with some earthiness coming through." (2014 Vintage)

Campbell Mattinson ~ "..a tiny, but mighty, estate."

Jamie Goode ~ "One of Marlborough’s very best wineries......sensational wines from interesting vineyard sites, farmed organically.

Ray Chan ~ "From the very beginnings of the Fromm winery in 1992, the core philosophy of expressing terroir through single vineyard wines has never been compromised. Such a driven approach is to be admired, and Hatsch Kalberer, the Fromm winemaker has come to represent the winery’s determination and unwavering direction. The wines he has faithfully crafted from the special vineyards are deemed some of Marlborough’s finest.."

Fromm were established by Swiss winemaker Georg Fromm in 1992. All vineyards have been certified organic (BioGro NZ).

Marlborough is New Zealand's most important wine region. Situated at the northeastern tip of the South Island, this dry, sunny region produces around three-quarters of all New Zealand wine. It is particularly famous for its pungent, zesty Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. In recent years, the region's earliest Pinot Noir vines have come of age, and are now producing some first-class wines. Marlborough Pinot Noirs are lighter and fruitier than those from Otago and Martinborough.

Although some vines were planted by settlers in the 1870s, commercial scale viticulture did not begin in Marlborough until the 1970s - it conquered the world within 25 years!

Pinot Noir is the dominant red wine grape of Burgundy, now produced in wine regions all over the world, including western Germany, northern Italy, Chile, South Africa, Australia and, perhaps most notably, California, Oregon and New Zealand.

The essence of Pinot Noir wine is its aroma of strawberry and cherry (fresh red cherries in lighter wines and stewed black cherries in weightier examples), underpinned in the most complex examples by hints of forest floor. Well-built Pinot Noirs, particularly from warmer harvests, also exhibit notes of leather and violets, sometimes approaching the flavor spectrum of Syrah.
