Brett Smith, Wine Jury “Outstanding value...Excellent fruit flavours are full-bodied, rich and intense. Good support from unobtrusive oak and chalky tannins add to the structure and the finish is long.....This is a robust, distinguished wine with excellent balance and drinkable now and well into the future. ”

John Lewis “this big Barossa drop is tremendous value ... The nose has fruitcake scents and vibrant blackcurrant flavour comes through on the front of the palate. Satsuma plum, Turkish delight, chocolate and spice fruit characters meld with nutty oak on the middle palate and dusty tannins hold sway at the finish”.

International Wine Challenge "Attractive cherry and blackberry fruit on the nose leads to a rich, long palate."

In South Australia's Barossa Valley, the Kalleske family have been farming and growing grapes since 1853 near the town of Greenock. They are one of the region's leading grape-growing families consistently growing some of the Barossa's best quality grapes.

Winemaker Troy Kalleske is a sixth-generation Barossa vintner. Formerly part of the winemaking team at Penfolds, Kalleske is considered one of Australia’s best young winemakers.

The 120-acre vineyard is planted to Shiraz, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Semillon, Chenin Blanc, Mataro, Petit Verdot, Durif, Viognier, Tempranillo and Zinfandel. Vines vary in age with the oldest remaining vineyard dating back to 1875 and an overall average vine age of about 50 years. The vineyard is low yielding with grapes grown organically and biodynamically and the winery is also certified biodynamic/organic.
