James Halliday "....Vibrant, with the real flow from beginning to graceful end, this elegant wine is ready to drink now...High pitched red and black currant aromas are varnished with hints of licorice and Australian scrub, as blue gum menthol notes streak across the grainy, mid-weighted palate." (2015 vintage)

Chris Shanahan "The wine delivers Coonawarra’s deep, ripe, berry flavours, medium body and elegant structure, without the overlay of oak or other winemaker inputs seen in wines made for cellaring." (2015 vintage)

Winsor Dobbin, Launceston Examiner "When it comes to affordable reds for everyday drinking it's hard to go past this delicious blend" (2015 vintage)

Ralph Kyte-Powell, The Age "If you like classically minty Coonawarra reds you'll enjoy this."

Majella is one of the most awarded small Australian wineries. It is family-owned and based in the famous Coonawarra wine region of South Australia. The Coonawarra wine region is characterized by its soils, known far and wide as “terra Rossa” - literally “red earth”.

The Coonawarra “Terra Rossa” forms a long, linear shape, little more than 20km long, and in parts only a few kilometres wide.

This soil is regarded as one of the premium viticultural soils of the world and Majella is fortunate that its vineyards are situated on the eastern edge of this famous “red stripe”.
