MORTLACH 2012 VERY CLOUDY SV ~ SPEYSIDE, SCOTLAND
700ml 84/100 Whisky Base Distilled in 2012, this version has been aged exclusively in ex-bourbon casks that impart sweet, spicy notes. Part of the The Un-chillfiltered Collection. Nose - Fruity and fresh. Orchard fruits, lychee, white flowers (lily of the valley), spices (pepper, liquorice). Palate - Fruity, fatty, spicy. Bourbon vanilla, almond milk, malted barley, baked apple, aromatic plants (verbena, chamomile). The Mortlach distillery lies in Speyside’s spiritual heartland, Dufftown, and holds the honour of being the first legal distillery to be built there. Mortlach proffers a classic Speyside flavour, though the set up is far from typical; there are three wash stills and three spirit stills with a combined total capacity of 2.91 million litres annually.
