Mark Nikolich - Senior Winemaker "Fragrant scents of ripe red cherries and strawberries are overlaid by subtle dried clove notes, cedar and spice. Light in body but possessing superb length the palate boasts a delicious flavour profile of ripe dark cherries and strawberries intermixed with some dried herbs, a touch of meatiness and spicy cedar. A very savoury drinking experience that finishes fresh with good lively acidity and finely grained tannins. Long aftertaste of ripe dark cherries, strawberries, subtle dried herbs, some meatiness and spicy cedar."

“Vintage 2016 will be long remembered as the most compact growing season in living memory. A warm spring was followed by a warmer than average Summer but luckily we were spared from suffering through too many extreme over-40 degree spikes during the ripening period. The effect of this weather forced an acceleration of ripening but also a retention of fresh acidity due to the cool nights. It’s not surprising then to see ripe, generous characters on the 2016 wines”.

Rob Dolan has been a Yarra Valley winemaker for over 20 years and is recognised as one of the great characters of the wine industry. Rob has an outstanding winemaking record and has played a pivotal role in the evolution of the Yarra Valley. His first experience in the Yarra Valley was as senior winemaker at Yarra Ridge winery, one of the success stories of the 90’s being the benchmark Pinot Noir of their time. Rob went on to launch two more successful Yarra Valley brands – Sticks and Punt Road (“Sticks” being Rob’s nickname as a premiership ruckman with Port Adelaide Football Club but don’t hold that against him!).

The White Label range incorporates unique wines produced in limited quantities from various sites throughout the Yarra Valley.
