The Winemaker "Blackcurrant and fresh blood plums are first out of the glass. Dense lavender and graphite lead the savoury spectrum followed by licorice, roasted coffee, wood-fired garlic and white beans. A modern-day cool-climate classic."
Australian Gourmet Traveller Wine Magazine ~ Wines to Watch ~ Nick Ryan "...an impressive suite of wines that provide compelling evidence of real understanding of site and dedication to capturing what makes it special."
The Swinney's are a pair of brother-and-sister winemakers who are one of the rare new Australian wineries to have two of their wines invited onto the esteemed wine lists of The Savoy Grill in London - considered one of the best wine lists in the world.
Swinney Vineyards made its debut in Halliday’s Australian Wine Companion 2015 with a five-star rating and were ranked in the top ten of best new wineries.
The quality of the fruit produced from the Swinney vineyards has attracted significant demand from premium wine producers, but it was not until 2012 that a very small quantity of the first Swinney 'Ingénue' wines was released. The fruit for this wine is selectively sourced from particular blocks in Swinney's Vineyards to produce wines of impressive purity, concentration, elegance, texture and distinctive terroir.
The Swinney family have been the go-to growers for many years supplying grapes to some of the most famous wines in Western Australia. Since 2012, they have kept back some of the best parcels of fruit and produced premium wines under their own label.
