The first-ever Karuizawa bottling by the famous That Boutique-y Whisky Company (TBWC). After closing in 2000, whisky from this distillery has become extremely rare.

Hard To Find Whisky "A warm, creamy and complex nose of cocoa, oak, spice, grapes and red fruit. The palate is sweet and spicy with caramel, char spice and a real red fruit jaminess. The finish is quite drying and salty to begin with before more fruity sweetness comes out at the very end. Whisky Nirvana is just about in reach..."

Nose - Syrupy dried fruit, rich earth and bittersweet orange marmalade at first, with hints of rancio, worn leather and ancient oak furniture. Gingernut biscuits, muscovado sugar and dried herbs develop among marzipan and a little vanilla.

Palate - The palate opens with an array of tropical fruit, Medjoul dates and plenty of blackberry notes, which balance against drying oak spice, earth and green Chartreuse. Oily chestnuts, dark chocolate and more aromatic ginger emerge with time, as well as touches of white truffle, red apple and game meats.

Finish - Wonderfully long, dry and bittersweet, with a final flourish of cinnamon bark after an age.

A legend of the whisky world, the Karuizawa distillery was opened in 1955 in Miyota, Japan. The distillery was closed in 2001, with their stocks becoming steadily available and when they do, they have become quite the collector's item for whisky collectors.

TWBC bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
